Your Muscle Cars back then did nothing that our Muscle Cars now can't do better. We have smaller engines making more HP and TQ than some of your big blocks on top of being more fuel efficient and putting out less emissions despite having more restrictions. We have lighter bodies that accelerate faster and have higher top speeds. We handle better, brake better, our transmissions shift quicker and stronger and are more durable, and we don't need to rev at 4,000 RPMs while going 40 MPH. What did you guys have back then? Turbo 350 and Turbo 400 transmissions? 4 speed manuals with no overdrive? LOL! Come on man. We have 6 and 7 speed manuals. We have more creature comforts, more options, our cars are more reliable in all weather conditions, can drive in rain and snow without tire chains or sand bags in the trunk. Shall I continue? So by your definition, how are our modern V8 Camaros NOT Muscle Cars? There is literally not one category where the old Muscle Cars can out perform our new Muscle Cars.
Everything you just said tells me that the 5th gen isn't a muslce car, AND is exactly why I wouldn't consider my car a muscle car.. I'm only 29 BTW...

Step outside and stay away from this forum for once, real world is not as bad as you think. Real world don't give a damn if you have V6 or V8.

See what I did there? Nothing you said can't also be said about just about any modern car. It doesn't make all modern cars Muscle Cars. That era is over.

To alot of people, a v6 does not fit the perception of a muscle car, me included. I don't bash people that have the v6, it's their choice. A very good friend of mine has a v6 Camaro, she likes it and I do too. Even with a V8, I don't believe 2010+ should be called a muscle car. And it's somewhat of a stretch to call a V8 it a modern muscle car. I reserve the term muscle car for the late 60s and early 70s, when the cars were more "raw" with focus on the motor. I didn't grow up during that time, so I don't know how or when the term muscle car started. I would guess people that had v6 and straight 6 cars of the 60's & 70's muscle car era could whoop up or compete with some of V8s from the 50s. So they were probably attempting to call their 6 cylinder cars a muscle car as well. In 30-40 years from now, what will people be talking about the "muscle cars" from this era. Will it be the 6s or the 8s?

Muscle car era was over decades ago. We are now in a PED and Steroids "muscle" car era, just enjoy that gas guzzling bundle of joy lol
