Actually a lot of people are guessing Ford will spin off SVT as a seperate brand like Chrysler did with SRT to avoid the CAFE standards due to lower production.

I thought SRT and Ram were split off from Dodge per the deal with Fiat?

What part of what I wrote did not compute?

Chrysler owns Dodge. The brands were removed as a strategy to avoid excessive taxation due to upcoming CAFE standards and a way to allow low production performance vehicles to not be super expensive.

I do not believe it was due to Fiat buying Chrysler.

From my understanding, their tier is Fiat SpA as the encompassing owner over Chrysler Group, LLC.

Chrysler Group, LLC is the parent of Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat (just the brand, not the entity), Jeep, Ram, and SRT.

I guess it's like saying Chrysler Group is to Fiat SpA as Westinghouse is to Toshiba.

Well to me and my wallet 6k is a huge difference, thats like v6 vs v8 camaro and that argument, and I wouldn't buy one that was just a base model, even for a raptor, I would want some options. When I compared last time there was about a 10k price difference between the mustang/camaro vs raptors $

Alot of people by v6's still, personally I hate them in a fullsize truck/suv and won't even consider one that has a 6 in it. But some people never tow or need the power so it works for them.

Well I am Not sure the dimensions on the race trailor you speak of they haul, but quad cab dually f450 with a loaded 5th trailer and how high they are, etc just based on surface space will suffer more for mpg, all I know for him on the open road going coast to coast its 8-14 usually loaded up on his last hike.

And yes good healthy kidneys can pull around 30k~ lol

Umm, no.

The removal of RAM and SRT was in the strategic plan long before Fiat. Corporations do not turn on a dime, they are more like long ocean liners, it takes time and a lot of effort to move them in different directions.

Ask me how I know, corporate re-engineering is what I do.

It's always best to hit those head on and get stuck, don't try and make a sharp turn and scrape the side, ask Edward Smith how he knows this.
