Meh, not going to get this "fixed." I'm short, I saw this while in my car, I can't even hit the key unless I physically try to do so, it's useless to me. I like my fob, dealership said you sign a waiver and it's no big deal. Just to release you from liability.

Anyone know if the key gets bumped and turns off the ignition if the steering will lock? That would be my major concern.

I'm not even close to the steering column this must be for people that are driving with their knees and texting on their phones. Did anyone on this site accidentally turn their ignitions off with their knees I'll be keeping my keys just the way they are now their recalling cars for stupid stuff. What's America coming to. When we were kids. You drove in cars with no seat belts. The dashboards were all metal.if you stopped fast and bumped your head on it. you just carried on their was no recall because you might hit your head on the dashboard and I'm sure more than four people have done this than turn their ignitions off with their knees. IM keeping my keys not even going in for this.

Our Spark has the same fob, so I guess it will be next.

Wow just read all of the threads and this Is really dumb and I don't see the point hell my fiat has a switch blade key as well and No I am not going to try it lol. So does that mean from now on Its either going to be push button or Silverado style key/fob together on all new cars coming out?

For the ones that is calling Camaro nuts or stupid to get rid of the switch blade key. To me the switch blade was a bad ideal and stupid.

Anyone else hear about this Recall?
A friend of mine was just talking to me about it. He wasn't explaining it very well to say the least.
What have you heard? |

Seen on the News, Camaro Ignition Recall
My sister said she saw on the news tonight that Chevy has issued a recall on the Camaro for the Ignition Switch now.
Anyone else see that?

CBS Evening News just this minute reported 500,000 Camaros are being recalled for this
ignition key recall. Have 500,000 5th gens been built ??? I didn't know the production was that high already. They showed our current key and the detachable replacement.

No you cannot rotate it past accessory without engaging the interlock. On automatics you have to put the car in park, I am not sure what the interlock is on manuals.
