Maybe they should spend more time speaking with the Ford reps as why they continue to offer a transmission incapable of finding 2nd gear at full throttle year after year on the GT500.

To read these threads is funny considering I still have yet to hear of a factory bone stock GT500 driven into the 11s outside of the mag testing.

1. I may be in the Ford camp now, but I grew up around GMs.

2. I like cars, all cars I am not a blind brand loyal follower

3. There has been some good debate on this site,

4. some of the posts in here from both the GM camp and Ford Camp are so hilarious, you have to read them.

I won't speak for others but for me Im a car enthusiast. There's no doubt I'm a ford guy but the camaro will always be the mustangs rival. Since the zl1 came out, I've been curious to see how folks mod their car and what others on the opposite end of the spectrum think about their rivals. Knowledge is power and if I ever see a stock zl1 the first question won't be what power mods but what cooling mods. The answer will determine whether I bring the cobra out or the srt4. Just because you choose to keep your blinders on and listen to only magazine articles doesn't mean every other person who owns a vehicle that's not a camaro should as well.

Guess you didn't read a few post up huh? Both cars have come up short to what both manufacturers have said they would do; the zl1 has just come up a lot shorter....tough pill to swallow Mr zl1 owner.

This is true... but they do provide some great intertainment.

So we could spend 4k to make it tear up the street (actually less) or we could go out and buy a GT500 for 6k more and end up w/ a car that doesn't handle as well...

My money is on the Z..

No flame taken. But let me offer a couple of my thoughts (that I posted once today already).

I figure there's two kinds of Ford folks here, car enthusiasts and fanboys. After this topic dies down (if it ever does - sheesh), I think you'll be able to tell the difference.

The fact that a car with over 600 rwhp can not find it's way into the 11s stock at local events after being released for several months now is a major fail IMO. The fact that a car with 480 RWHP ZL1 bone stock has sniffed the 11s with 12:0x runs doesn't look that bad.

FYI I dont have blinders on nor do I only listen to magazine articles, nor am I speaking for anyone other than myself (just for the record). Not that it realy matters but I have owned a GT in the past and currently own a F-350 6.0 powerstroke. no blinders here

Just curious, did someone already post a video of a ZL1 beating a GT500 on a 1/4 race? We should sticky it. We keep seeing vids of the GT500 winning, youtube and magazine postings.

No I didn't/don't know that. The guy made it sound like the ZL1 has beaten the Shelby in a 1/4 so he must know or have seen them race and it would be nice if he could share that information. I am sure a lot of people here, like me, would be pleased to see a "ONE TIME!" even just a one time rare thing.
