So, what exactly is happening on Friday, just test and tune? I don't see a date or time for the cruise or the autocross. When are these taking place?

I guess we are competing in the "triathlon"?

"However, the big question on everyone’s mind is who’s results will be better, the East Coast Super Chevy Magazine Triathlon participants at Palm Beach International Raceway or the West Coast’s from Auto Club Famoso Raceway?"

We'll all still need one for auto-x, anyways....and if first time racers, I would guess you'd have to wear one on the strip...all good...
We will need a full face helmet for Auto-X?

You shouldn't. Same helmet you use for drag should be fine I assume.

no open face helmet is ok for autocross. The important part is snell rating.

So here is the run down of how the Best of the West will work, G should be posting more detailed info though.....

Friday:
we will be cruising to Bakersfield.
So Cal cruise information is on page 10 post 277 I think
Feel free to post cruise info from the other area's and G will add it to the new update.

Saturday:
We will have unlimited runs on the auto cross,
I believe we will have group runs for the drags.
Car show is all thru out the day.
Awards for top 3 in each classes for autox, drags, and car show will be awarded saturday evening.
Also Saturday eveneing the Best of Area will be awarded.

G is trying to work out something with the hotel so there will be dinner there but that is still in the works.
Saturday evening I am sure we will be hanging in the parking lot

Sunday:
A run off between Best of Area's will occur to decide who is Best of The West.

BEST of The West should be awarded on Sunday around lunch time after the run offs.

The autox will be open and unlimited still on sunday.
I am not sure on the drags though G will need to answer this.

These awards are seperate from any other award that will be given by Super Chevy, you will still be eligible for any other of the awards that come with the normal admission.

Oh my opinion on the shorts, I believe you can wear them for autox but I dont think they allow them for the drags. (again thats just my opinion) Maybe G can confirm this also.

Hope that helps and didnt confuse any one.

16 DAYS WHOOP WHOO!!

You guys might also want to take a look at the Famosoraceway.com/SuperChevy website....there is a link to the "Classes & Rules, Car Show...etc..."...

It gives a general outline of the weekend, but no specific times for every event...That will be up when it gets closer, and they know how many cars they will have in each class for racing and car show...

Super Chevy Show Pre-Registration

Hello fellow Camarohaulics!

We used to have many Super Chevy's out here on the West Coast and little by little they started to go away. We lost Arizona 2 years ago and now Las Vegas will no longer be hosting the Super Chevy Show. We only have one place left on the West Coast with Super Chevy. That place is Auto Club Famoso Raceway.

What do you guys say we show up strong and show them that Super Chevy Show needs to stay on the West Coast?

Just a heads up for drag portion. We run out there all the time. Famosa tech guys are real sticklers on the helmets, has to be snell 05 or 10. They check for the sticker inside the helmet also, not just the one on the back of it. We can run both open and closed faced.
On the shorts, that's a no-go for shorts.

Also this event sounds like its shaping up to be a good sized event. According to the guys I know from the track, the ford event from a week or 2 ago was a flop. Was told there were only like less than 50 cars that showed up. According to just our camaro poll, we should have a better turnout with just 5th Gen camaros.

No. The triathlon is separate from Best Of The West.
