I agree but I know that if they keep giving me the run around about it being a "normal condition" I am going to begin the process of seeking lemon law protection. I am tired of making constant trips to the dealer only to have them say it is normal, like it is my fault somehow. They can try and play hardball (and lose) or they can man up and fix the issue. I highly doubt a Corvette owner would be pushed aside like this and told over and over that it is normal.

2 trips to 2 different dealers and I get the same response. The 1st tech it was a could not reproduce. 2nd tech at the 2nd dealer sees me standing on the clutch pedal and notices the extra effort to shift at RPMs above 4k and the grind. But because Chevy says it's not an issue, the dealer can't do anything for me. To top it off, I get a call from customer service telling me sorry but it is what it is and can't control how I drive my car. Yeah that call got my blood boiling...

Sounds bad, but its comforting knowing that everyone is getting the same response from the dealers and GM Customer Service as I am.

Well I just got done with the dealer, they told me that there is nothing that can be done until my problems get worse. Their fear is breaking down the transmission and not being able to find anything to bring back to GM, thus not getting paid back for their time and effort. The only assurance they could offer was reminding me that it has a 100k mile powertrain warranty and they will replace the transmission if need be. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think GM corporate is really behind this pushing on the dealers to cover it up. I think this will be a long fight and may result in legal action.

Set the parking brake, traction control on, and dump the clutch, while in second gear, at 3500 RPM. Something will brake, Guaranteed.

Well with just over 9000 miles on my 2010 SS m6, I really ran into this problem yesterday. 3 good runs in the 1/4 mile and the next 4 times blocked me out of 2nd and made me feel like an idiot. The last time I was at the dealer they said my cold air intake and headers were going to void my warranty in the future.

I can assure you GM/Chevrolet is very aware of this issue. I received a private email stating as much.

Some of you may be too young to recall but back in the early 90's Ford Light Truck division had a problem with their newly released E4OD 4 speed autos. This replaced the old reliable C6 3 speed auto. It was specifically in diesels and 460 gassers. It got so bad that new transmissions were failing driving off the lot. I had a fleet and lost 6 of them in short order.

Ford started a huge campaign and just swapped them out 1 for 1. The transmissions were shipped in plastic banjo cases. Our local dealer had a RACK of them and it was a small dealer! This is what will happen if GM doesn't get their arms around this because history repeats itself!

As for a fix? Swap them out with the ZL1 trans setup and problem is solved.

The only way i see this getting fixed is if we are all vocal about it. We need to be in contact with gm customer service and not stop until the issue is resolved.

Start by reporting the issue
Lets see what dealerships can do for resolve the more of us that report this the better

You could follow up with GM customer service report dissatisfaction with the transmission

Do this all calmly and nicely

In my case my dealership is going to try and change out synchro and 2 rings

We will see if efforts pay off
