If you bailed that was your choice and you let everyone know that. Things get delayed for various reasons, I worked for Microsoft and we held software releases past the release for quality issues or bad code.... All products have glitches or issue. I have my own company and we produce auto parts and I can tell you I have held product for quality reasons.

So now that you bailed give the rest of us a break.

well I don't know what Ill do then.
Don't really want a GT500 but you never know.
Im probably the only chicken that bailed. Who cares anyway...?
I just hope yall get your 12's with no glitches or hiccups...
Well, thats your own perogative but ...

Every single new car on the market has its issues. Nothing is perfect. The question is, are you willing to accept a few glitches and/or wait a little while until they're fixed? If not, try a 2013 GT500 and roll the dice to see if they have tranny, or engine, or axle troubles when they add another 100 hp. They probably won't, but you can never know for sure. Just like GM probably won't have too many serious issues with the ZL1. There will be the normal stuff of course, but if I were inclined to buy one, I'd accept that any issues 'resolved' for the 2013 MY will be covered under the 2012 MY warranty. But beyond that, its sorta nice to know that they're tryinig to fix things before it gets sent to customers rather than the usual practice of waiting until enough have complained to fix it 'after' as a TSB or recall

Yup I am so long suffering and waiting I am waiting since june of last year 2011 till june of 2012 for a 2013...
Gm will have all the glitches and bugs worked out by then surely, or at least anything and everything that can be and out of the ordinary like software glitches... or whatever else is holding it up.
I basically told my dealer my car among 400 others where sitting in a lot and I wanted a "fresh car." Not one just sitting, sitting, and sitting.. I was way prepared for the QC hold and it not being shipped till Mid March....
I want to order a car, have it built....wait being bayed no longer than about 2 months (within reason if you ask me) and shipped and deliverer to me. If I order a 13 and it gets held up for a quality issue with no details as this one has, ill order a 14... or 15....I have the patience of Job....
I can wait till the cows come home... Now. Let me make someone mad here. Just my opinion. Whatever the reason for the hold... Software glitch, suppliers not having material for the carbon fiber hood insert...to re routing the battery cables... Whatever the issue is..... should have reared its ugly head WAY before 480 plus cars were built. Just my thoughts and stickin' to it. My dealer understands. He is not going to lose an allocation over it and wants my buisness on the 13... So even though I would be able to buy one locally by that time I am going to drive 4 hours one way just to have his business.
OH...one more thing... The 13 just MIGHT be dusk blue or some other new color... (conjecture only)... you never know...

Look, a lot of people are taking this all the wrong way. I don't have a problem waiting, hell as Canadians we knew we'd be last on the list regardless of when we submitted our order. I am not talking about me, I figured I'd be lucky to even get one at all.

All I was saying is, someone dropped the ball bigtime or else there would be people (not me or other Canadians yet as I mentioned), but some 480 or so people would be enjoying their purchases.
In business this is not a good thing. Most of us are willing to accept the fact there are setbacks in receiving the cars, What else can we do? We still want them..That wasn't the point.

I still stand by my thoughts. Politically correct is not, nor will it ever be, in my vocabulary, so I really don't buy in to all the kumbaya sit by the fireside and get a warm and fuzzy feeling thing.

Everyone can have their own opinion. I have mine. Some will agree and some will disagree.
I still say its bad business. Here's the litmus test. Would GM be happier if there were no setbacks and the cars were being delivered? Would customers be happier? If the answer is yes, then what I am saying is true.

I spoke with my dealer and he was confident that the production would restart by the end of the month. He said that the allocation given to him had not been taken away. I hope whatever the cause for the delay is will be disclosed. It would also be helpful if GM will give us the reason and what corrections, if any, were taken. Looking forward to the car no matter what the delay, though. Best regards.

Most people that do not own a business wont understand what you are saying. My family does and has lost some high dollar contracts by being a day late with paperwork so I understand where you are coming from and agree fully. It seems to me that most people are veiwing their relationship with GM as a freindship rather than a supplier/consumer relationship and so they don't understand where people like us who see this as a failure on GM's part are coming from.

This is a real test of my patience, I live close to a Cadillac dealer and I see the CTS-V everyday ; however I don't need a car right now and good things happen to those who wait!!!! I don't dont want a new car with issues, I have already gone through this with my Mustang and the worse one with my old Acura - that's why I refuse to buy anything from them.

ZL1 reviews are extremely good and I will wait until is fixed and I hope it gets here for my birthday - March 30th that's all I really want

So friends chillax

You all that are so worried about the delays need to get a grip and calm down. $hit happens this happened to the 1st batch of 2010s and the 2011 verys it was going to happen with the ZL1s GM said that before production started. When they are ready they will shipits that that big of a deal all of the pouting going on is a bit over the top GM found a small issue so rather than ship cars and have you bring them in to a dealership they are fixing it before hand. Once the issue is fixed they will start up production again and ship cars once they ship you will start seeing your cars with in a few days. All good things cone to those who wait.

So, I believe my car was one of the last produced before the "production shutdown/stoppage"..ZL1 # 473. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised that Fbodfather hasn't weighed in and spilled the "beans, crankcase and rearend bearings". Imho whatever the issue, unless it's the standard QC hold we all expected, I hope that the information about the cause and corrective action is communicated to our dealers first, and I/we get a phone call from my dealer and NOT find out about it on a internet forum. Like I did when the decision was made to drop IBM and had to tell my dealer that I needed to change colors and why!! That was BS any way you spin it..So, I'll wait, I'm in no hurry. I traded my paid off 2010 2SS/RS as a down payment and it's already being enjoyed by the "new" owner and you don't hear me whining about the wait. Because it was my decision and will be up to the point the papers are signed on my ZL1. Of course like all of you If the wait is too long and they start making 13's in blue,(like the wait will be that long) well then....

Really? GM said they knew something would go wrong before production started? This whole thing is just bad timing. People were expecting their cars in a week, now they have no clue. GM is saying nothing. So misinformation is flying. Sucks. Was looking forward to reading consumer reviews in a week.
