yes , it's better than my HHR will do... the Camaro is 1,000 pounds heavier and with 142 more horses..

Oh I didn't mention on our trip today we were going down I-40 and saw a NC State Trooper in his Dodge Charger coming up on us pretty fast... he got up beside us and gave us a thumbs Up and then drove on off....

I haven't had an officer of the law do that yet, but I do have that happen daily on the way home from work, people catching up to me on the highway to give me a thumbs up, lets you know your ride is cool.

I was driving today when I noticed a police car behind me. I was fortunately only doing 45 in a 40. At the red light he got up real close to me and then I saw in my rear view mirror two kids from the back of the patrol car pointing and smiling at my car. I waved back at them and the officer smiled and waved back with a thumbs up.

You know at that point, you probably could have gotten away with doing a little burn out right in front of the cop :-D

I just picked mine up this past Friday. This weekend has been all local and I'm at 350 miles with an average 22.7 on the DIC.

I'll chime in later in the week because I'll be using my car for commuting to my job of 100 miles round trip. This will be almost all highway miles. My Tacoma was only getting 20 mpg.

I'm hoping for better mpg with the Camaro, but I just wanted something more pleasurable to drive to work, since I'll be spending almost 3 hours a day in the car!

I checked mine this weekend making a 100 mile round trip with 85% HWY and 15% city and it showed 29.4 mpg. Not bad in a loaded down car with the windows and sunroof open and the AC on low just to kill some of the humidity in the cab. My old Mustang, granted it was a V8 with a 347 stroker, got about 13 - 14 on that trip in much less comfort.

I have a buddy that had a V6 Mustang as a rental over the weekend and the Camaro is a hands down winner. I don't care if the 2011 Mustang will win in a quarter mile. I will qualify my next comment by saying that I am a Fox Body Mustang guy at heart so I don't get bashed, but you Mustang V6'ers can keep your 1/4 mile. I'll take an interior that is far more quality in a better looking car that doesn't feel like it was molded in the same plastic as the 1:16 scale model you buy for your kids. Long after those 14 seconds are over we have a car that is becoming more common to see but still gets thumbs up all over the place. This thing is good for a 14 day road trip!!!

We now have over 6,600 miles on the car. On regular 87 octane gas.

This is similar to what I am seeing in mine. This car freakin' rocks!

I forgot to say that the 34MPG was while driving in the mountians of western NC... not on the eastern coast where it is flatter.

Currently I'm getting about 18.1-18.5 mpg, I'm running about .. 80% city 20% highway probably. Hope it'll get better, but at the same time it's getting better mileage than my '05 Mazda Tribute, haha. Been almost a week and I'm at half tank right now, Normally I'd get about 8 days a tank on my old car with normal week driving, plus a trip to the other side of town (half hour to get there highway) to visit friends every weekend. Done that so far and like I said, only at half tank.
