It was part or the bankruptcy reorganization, which saved the company some astronomical amount of money by not making those anymore.

Ours was built Oct 5, no chicklets but has the perormance badge.

mines 47808, built 9/18/09 and i have the mark of excellence, thank god. I am buying all the ones off ebay i can! love those little fellas! i want to put them on my next GM car!!

Is the GM performance badge only on the SS? pictures?

I'm glad GM stopped putting those badges on. The first thing I'd do upon arriving at home from the dealership with a new Camaro is remove the badge.....among other emblems/badges.

Not sure why they bother people. I have a newer Camaro so mine doesn't have it but my '08 Grand Prix had one and it never bother me.
