If you don't understand the answer to your question, I feel it would be impossible to continue this conversation. I'm sure there are far more people that know the answer and understand then don't.

Let me put it this way. When you think sport car or muscle car the first thing you think of is fast car. Now we have fast cars but not as fast as a 4 door sedan but we shouldn't include those because it's a 4 door and we have muscle cars even though our muscle cars are slower.
I'm not happy either so here is what I hope is happening. Dodge came out with hellcat and we think ford is upping the game with 750hp. When in reality dodge and ford knows Chevy's 6 Gen secret and they had to up the hp to keep up with a mid 600hp camaro that is very light. So they are trying to keep up with chevy. Am I wrong, maybe but I think that is all we can hope for at this point. As someone else has said, the camaro is not getting 700+ hp but it may not need it. Let's hope...

Zl1 580hp, add a cold air intake that's standard on the Dodge and you're at 600hp. Factor in the 300 extra pounds the Challenger weighs (equal to about 40 hp). That pushes the Zl1 to an equivalent of around 640 HP compared to the Challengers' 707. So, about 70 less HP, but better handling and actual discounts instead of dealer mark up. Seems like an easy call to me.

If a ZL1 makes 707HP will it run the same times on the same tires?

Have you guys seen the movie "The Beast" with Eric Bana? That pic of the skid marks reminds me of that movie.
