OK guys... I'll put together a powerpoint on how to do that if that's something you guys want. You may want to wait for 2SSRS to finish up with the project as I'm sure he'll post up an easier "how to" guide. Either way, I'll get the "recommended way" guide put together Monday or Tuesday.

dont forget your unlock codes when you unplug the radio for an extended amount of time, always happen to me with the older gm radios but i got a tech2, not 100% about the new radio but i wouldnt doubt it would be the same

its a security code for your radio, unless you have a gmtech2 tool your dealer charges between 45-80 dollars for this code to unlock the radio. it prevents radio theft . i know older gm radios have this not 100% sure if the new one does too

Nope, the Dash with the HUD has a hole already cut. I'd rather not cut a hole in my stock factory dash, my intent for my car is to keep anything original and if I mod anything I mod a replacement. So if I am going to cut into any panels etc, they will be new panels and I will store the original in case I ever want to go back to complete stock.

Based on the few pages posted, other than removing the steering wheel I have pretty much already done most of that to my car already, seems simple enough. I've removed the entire dash in every vehicle I have owned (which works out to be 8 so far, 9 if i do it to the Camaro) for various reason, stereo installs, lighting mods etc. Not afraid to do it.

Normally I can see on making things stock again but I don't really see this as something that really matters on putting it back to stock or not, granted it is done cleanly. If you are worried about resale value, it doesn't hurt it at all and wouldn't increase the value either except maybe if you sold it to someone who wanted HUD and would have passed on your ride over a 2011. But like i said, if done cleanly (stock/OEM looking) than I just don't see justifying not doing this based on being able to make it stock again. And this coming from me when I just had my car in the shop checking out a possible wiring issues with my aftermarket Kenwood deck and the shop ended up by passing the constant power module and hardwiring it to another wire in the car. I did not want to bypass the power but ended up just doing it as no harm really.

I've kind of thought about that (going back to stock) too. I have everything so far to go back to stock without an issue.

When it comes to drilling holes, and cutting holes. Yikes!
I had the same issue when it came to installing the OEM fogs on the camry. However, since I was cutting the bumper to install OEM equipment I was justified in doing that.

I'm still on the fence about installing HUD in cliffy.
I also kind of wonder did anyone install backup sensors on a car without them? I think it would be cool if ever the lighted sensors show up like in the owners manual originally.
