I'm going to just go with the Lingenfelter 3.91 gears made by AAM. The same company that makes our stock diffs and all the Chrysler and GM diffs. They told Lingenfelter that they should handle 750+ hp in the Lingenfelter builds. So we will see. At least Lingenfelter will stand behind them if they break.
It's amazing that my stock gears have handled over 150 launches, without breaking, but the Richmond gears broke on just their 4th launch.

Brian, the Richmond 4.10's that you have are breaking for a lot of people, but they claim that their 4.11's will hold up. They have one tooth less on the ring gear so the teeth are a little thicker. If they won't give me my money back, I'll try to get some 4.11's for replacements for you to try out.
Brian, does the installation kit include new axle bearings or just the pinion bearings?
The Lingenfelter gears look tempting to me to as I have read some on the Richmond sets failing. When I look on the site I only see the 3.70 and not the 3.91

The 3.91's are brand new to Lingenfelter from AAM. They are expecting to receive them from AAM the middle of next week. So they aren't even on their site. I'll PM you when they call me that they are shipping them to me. You can get them ordered before anyone else knows about them.

Welcome to the Camaro Club of the Rockies. Next event is the Drive event at invesco field on Sat the 30th at 8 am. Just sayin.

Bet you are getting some snow up there right now. Not ideal Camaro weather for sure.

I was hoping we would make this one but think we are going to miss it by a week or so. Clint is thinking we are about 2 weeks out!

Don,

Are you still running the stock tranny? I think you told me you were but I couldn't remember.

Great Easter and got to spend time with Chris and Ricardo...Whoooo hooooo! Sure made it a fun time...Chris got some lights installed. Ricardo ordered up some mods for his ride. Dirty Harry got some buttery wax on him. Rain started coming down but we were warm and dry surrounded by Camaro love.

Oh and we ate pretty good too.. Well Chris and I as we had two nap inducing feeds during the day...lol

Hope everyone had a great holiday themselves. Talk to you all as the week progresses.

Larry

Happy Easter everyone....

Yea... Gettin Close on Joe's car.. Little last minute changes we have made to optimize potential...

Don.... I'm not surprised gears were not under warranty. From a gear manufactures point of view, way too many variables to justify a free replacement & Labor. Due to the fact gears are subject to a local shop setting them up with correct backlash, pinion angle Etc Etc... They could state it was installed incorrectly, and who could or would prove them otherwise... I'm sure they were installed absolutely perfect, and with proper gear oil, Etc... Heck, they could have done the work themself, but as soon as you put some problem free mileage on those gears, (no issue with initial setup, proving install problem) , Later on down the line, if you ever get a breakage, it's on you...

Same kinda goes with Clutches, valve springs, rod or main bearings, Etc Etc... any most "wearable" item, unless you can prove initial manufacture failure, the company will not replace them...
