I got to drive a 3rd Gen IROC like 15 years ago, and I figured that was as good as it would ever get. But this SS checks every single car 'box' I ever had in my head. Unbelievable!

I keep jumping in the driver's seat and just heading off to absolutely nowhere. I've wound up halfway to the Iron Range, I've wound up in Wisconsin, and damn near showed up in Iowa before I turned around to head back to the Cities.

I've never had so much fun in a car. Ever.
If you think it handles great now, WAIT UNTIL YOU LOWER IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then you will TRULY feel what this camaro has to offer ! its night and day difference, i take turns that are "35 mph" limits at around 80 mph and it sticks to the ground like nothing ! gotta say the lowering is without a doubt the best investment ive done to the car, aside from looks of course

AWESOME! I'm so glad to hear it. Everything about this car is so great, I was a little worried I might screw it up if I dropped it an inch. I can't wait!! Thanks man!

Allrighty - I've got a half-dozen new chassis parts being shipped to me shortly. But before they arrived I was hoping to get some more insight into your Camaro's behavior after you lowered it.

The biggest question would be - how is it over speed bumps? Do you have any problems clearing the bumps, or even bouncing down again once you've cleared them?

Any hints you could give me would really help me out. Old Man Winter took it to us early and often. The melting ice has exposed pot holes the size of (no shit) man hole covers. I'm a little nervous about scraping and dragging the front facia around like an asphalt plow. Whaddya think?

Thanks in advance!

Brother, i got the GM GFX and hardly do I ever hit bumps, I mean grant it if you go into a deep driveway it might scrape at the bottom but thats only sometimes. but ive never had any issues with my exhaust scraping or anything besides the front lip but like i said only in deep driveways. bounce reaction is not as good as stock obviously because we are putting different springs on stock shocks, if you want prestine handling then you will end up dropping over 1300 on coilovers but thats for some serious hardcore track use in my opinion. I went with sway bars and springs and that alone gets me trough the streets on Orange county and cornering that I want and need

Fantastic! That's music to my ears (eyes?) man! I picked up sway bars to go with the springs too, plus a strut tower brace and some new bushings for the chassis.

It is ON! 2011 is gonna be great.

You wont regret it brother, its the best modification to do on these cars, forget turbos and all that nonsense, suspension is where the fun is at

I couldn't agree more! This baby's gonna be 'All Motor', no boost of any kind. I'm goin' with CAI and some good cat-backs for now. If I go really nutz for power later on I might go as far as a cam with some headers, maybe even stroke it.

But what I really want is an asphalt-chewing cornering machine!

I just got back from another long drive to nowhere. I can't understand one bit of people's complaints about this car. What a dream.

I'm gonna run it to Milwaukee late next week to see some family. Once I'm done with that, the mods begin in earnest, and so give way to "Camaro Summer"!

I agree, a good catback and cai is all you need !!! and yea i know people complain about the little things in life and then you got your "know it all" idiots who talk to GM employees who designed the car as if they were looking out just to please them, when in reality GM does what they think will please the general public ......but anyway enough about idiots in life lol once you get the car lowered take it out on some turns and really hammer that suspension, thats what it was designed for ...... FUN DRIVING !!!!

I know exactly what you mean! I get exasperated listening to some folks' nit-picking about the Camaro. The amount of car, the degree of quality, and the stunning beauty we get for the handful of dollars they're charging just boggles my mind. The whole idea of the Camaro is a kick-ass GT performance car that damn near anyone can buy. It's not a Ferrari. And it's not supposed to be a Ferrari. It's beer & tacos, not wine & cheese.

Now I'm gonna go hop into my kick-ass GT car to grab some tacos and look for any Ferraris I can give the finger to.

I know !!! tell me about it, I mean this is by far THE greatest car out on the road !!! hell even BMW's and Mercedez dont get nearly as many head turning attention as the Camaro and ours are half the cost !!! for all the nit picking idiots out there they are just a sad excuse of a Camaro owner ..... personally I am extremly proud of this American Muscle car making its way back !! it certainly helped GM get back into the game when we were seeing a lot of lay off's here in US. God bless USA and Camaros

Oh Man!! What a dream machine!! I can't wait! All of my parts arrived - they're sitting in my living room staring at me. I gotta make a trip to see Gramma, but as soon as I get back it is ON!
