There are plenty of stations (shell, chevron, or 76) at the last stop in Stevensons ranch, so that would be a good fill up.

Friday is cruise day, most of the Best of the West will be on saturday with the finals on sunday morning. There is a ticket for Best of the West, its $85. It lets you AutoX, Drag, and park with the group for the car show, it also gives you an extra ticket if you have a passenger.

If you can call them and ask, don't get why they don't show that to go with the snell certification....If 2005, you may not get that many more years of being able to use it...perhaps why it's a low price....dunno...
Just found out that it is 2010 for the model I posted. Gonna be ordering today!

EDIT: FML, they don't have my size helmet for the one that I listed so I had to go with the 400 model. Still SNELL 2010!

Snell 2010 is a win. You'll be able to use it for a long time.

Make sure you are looking at SA2010 NOT SM2010 helmets. "M" will not work. Not fire or roll bar tested.

I found this while I was looking into which helmet I was going to get. I'm not sure how the track in Bakersfield is going to view the rules on the differences between the two 2010 ratings, but to be sure I got the right one, I went with SA and not SM

Snell SA Rated Helmets:
Snell "SA" (Sports Application) rated professional helmets are designed for auto racing and provide extreme impact resistance and higher fire protection.

Snell M Rated Helmets:
Snell "M" (Motorcycle) rated helmets are designed for motorcycling and other motorsports. They offer slightly less protection than SA rated helmets.

What are the key differences between SA and M Rated Helmets:
- SA standard requires flammability test while the M standard does not.
- SA standard has rollbar impact test while M standard does not.
- SA standard allows narrower visual field than M standard (Some SA helmets aren't street legal).

Also, if you are considering the purchase of a Snell "M" rated helmet, be sure that your club will allow them. SCCA Solo does allow Snell "M" rated helmets, although some organizations that run high speed events will require Snell "SA" rated helmets. We recommend Snell "SA" rated helmets because they will be legal for any type automotive activity you participate in.

Good to know! I was basing it off of what one of the "Motorsports" shops said.

Rant:

How can a place be called a "Motorsports" location when it caters to strictly motorcycles/ATV/watercraft?

End rant:

So you're saying that the helmet that I happily got in the mail yesterday won't work at Famoso if it is SM2010?

EDIT: Yep, the helmet I got is M2010:

But reading the above posts, I guess it won't matter!
