The stock radio was $1200. He found this one that will work for just $800. With the extra money he can take her out on a date night.

You know, I may have just figured out why relationships don't last for me.

Actually the headunit. Was told last week they are out of stock so I am patiently waiting. Was told it would ship this week. Got my fingets crossed that I didn't get hoodwinked.

In the meantime I ordered a USB cable and USB port to put in the center console along with the other cables Electronic mentioned. Dont use XM or Onstar so gonna hold off on the splitter.

Maybe everything will show up at the same time.

Can some one please make a list of what is needed in addition to this kit, as well as what you need to have your steering wheel controls, and XM still work?
Thanks! I was thinking of going with the schoshe or metra, but I really dig the fact that this keeps the stock temp controls look.

Thanks!

I emailed about the XM and Android version:

Quote:
Does your radio have SiriusXM hardware? I'm sure you can install the SiriusXM app or run an external unit as an auxiliary input, but if I'd replace my radio I would prefer to keep the XM in the headunit itself.

It looks like it is using Android 2.3? Are there any plan to use any newer versions of Android?

This is a capacitive screen, yes?
Got this response:
Quote:
No, I didn't make any sirus for the car camaro and it have capacitive touch screen and i had many options for the unit and aslo the android 4.0 will be ready soon and can be upgrade to android 2.3.4 given existing software .
I really want the screen but damn losing integrated satellite is a real problem for me. Like, that really IS the radio for me. Making it more difficult to use is definitely a consideration. Have to review some of the external units and see whats out there.

Cool to know they are working on current Android versions

Finally Shipped

I feel better now, I have a tracking number and it was shipped out yesterday. As far as parts needed, I think it is dependant on which vehicle you have..and since I do not have it in hand yet.....I am guessing based on what others have posted.

I have a 2LS obviously without BOSE.
I have ordered the USB port to place in the center console
A USB cable to plug in the back of the unit and run to the center console
The FAKRA cables and adapters mentioned by Electronic

I ordered the reverse camera with the Unit

Pending, a Solid State Hard Drive and the GM Splitter for Onstar

I would definitely like to see if the GM splitter for the onstar works with this.

Was wondering from those few who received this with camera's, do they provide enough cable to install the camera in the back or did you need to get more?

Scheduled to get here tomorrow, so I will take more picture and post. Wont install until at least Saturday at the earliest.

Any specific requests picture wise?

This looks pretty amazing. I had never contemplated changing out my factory radio until I saw this. I look forward to seeing the other installs and reviews.
