For the most part if it's a part from the time period in which the car was originally built it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue compared to adding a new part to an old car. That being said stock is always best.

I don't like cutting up a component like many of you, but for this mod I'm willing to. If I screw up with the cuts bad enough I'll go ahead and change the panel. As said above, I think this is an addition that won't hurt the resale value at all.
As far as keeping it stock...that went out the window at mile 48.

Or 42K like me, Buy the way i added 2 ABL connectors for all the cars that do not have them behind the instrument panel,( in two days i will post all the info for this) And i made a bread board to size, But its all done with wire colors and size of wires so i will not post a pic of it.

OK one last thing To help support the camaro5 Forum i need to be come a sponsor, So that will happen soon then i will start to sale the harness, It was always the plan and dos not add a penny to the cost.

We have a grate site so we need to help keep it going, thank's.

For the guy buying a new dash. If youre worried about going back to stock down the road than why not just buy it when that time arises? Why spend the extra $400-500 if you dont need to right away? Do what you want but I'm just throwing out ideas here.

So glad I signed up on this board. I was stuck between a heavy payment of a 2011 for the HUD, or be unhappy with a much cheaper 1 owner 2010... Looks like I have a new option

Thanks for your hard work, I'll have one on order once I have my car!

Alot of talk about SEMA, will this vehicle be there? I would love to check it out...

It will, but will not have the trim Unless GM ships that part.

If I cut up my existing dash and decide to take it back to stock 2010 specs for whatever reason, then buying a replacement dash at that point is not doing that it would be buying a dash replacement from someone other than the original manuf. probably by then. I'd rather have THE factory dash whole, I know most of you don't get it, it's just a thing I do... It's a 2010 Aqua Blue, you never know when it might be worth something more than it already is worth to me. If I have all original parts in it (except tires brakes etc...) then it could potentially be worth more. but beyond that, I just have a thing I don't like to cut up factory parts.

Moving on.

This is awesome that you have done this 2SSRS! Good job bud!

Yes but this is one of those mods that even 50 years from now it would be worth just the same, or more, with it added. That is because it is now an option on the car. But it would need to be cleanly as OEM is done.

Not really. Look ahead in 30 years, or 40 if the car is considered a classic because it a 2010 and a Aqua Blue. First year back with a rare color. People wont be like oh look it's the rarest of them all one with a HUD! Nope they will be like that was not avail in 2010 this was done aftermarket, therefor making the classic not original, no longer being worth as much.

Maybe in 10 years it will be worth more but once it reaches the classic status not so much.

granted I may not keep it that long bu you never know. I just like having the option.
