Don't count on it. The "fight club" formula applies in real life. If A + B < or = C then you will never see a fix.

I say this only after going up and down the GM support organization looking for an answer to the random gear lockout issue that I have with my car. No one seems to care and all of them are trained to say that they've never heard of a single issue with the transmissions in these cars.

I hate to say it but I have to agree with you. Being a positive person, I try my best to see the good in people and hope they are doing the right thing, but my experience with GM on this particular matter have not been good at all. They finally got so sick of me complaining that they gave me the GM protection plan for free which is basically just free oil changes and lube jobs.

All of the dealers I have visited have made me feel like I am the one in the wrong, telling me I don't know how to drive a manual (which I have been doing since 16 yrs old). The other excuse is that it is a "normal condition" and all of the cars are supposed to sound like that. Whatever the case, I fear that they won't budge anytime soon and we may be stuck holding the bag.

Tremec variants are in the Camaro, Corvette, Mustang, and Challenger and probably more. There are thousands in use. I am convinced the only way to get a good Tremec is to have it custom built by someone who knows them inside and out, and use a good aftermarket solid clutch and pressure plate.

I have been driving 40 years and I cut my teeth on manual transmissions. Very rarely did I or do I miss shifts. I have owned multiple high performance vehicles. My everyday driver is a 5 speed stick and it gets 500 miles a week put on it commuting. Strange how that car doesn't have a shifting issue. I KNOW HOW TO SHIFT!

GM are you listening to your INVESTORS? It isn't driver error! Your techs can't duplicate the problem with the car sitting in a stall or on a rack!!! THEY MUST get off their butts and drive the cars out on the road. Drive them hard and try a few power shifts and they will see.

And while you are at it GM... authorize the splitting of the master brake cylinder and the clutch reservoir. Make that a required safety recall.

Every so often, a G.M. representative(s) appears in various threads and offers to provide assistance. I'm a bit surprised that they are avoiding this particular issue. What's even more appalling is the fact that owners must (on their own) seek other various "aftermarket" solutions to a problem that still isn't recognized by G.M. I would guess that in the end... it all comes down to $$$. A safety recall = $$$. Admitting to a flaw.... would cost them.... and they know that.

Change the trans fluid to Redline D4 ATF. This worked WONDERS for my 2010 M6 notchiness. It shifts MUCH better at 6200 RPM at the drag strip, and cold 1-2s as well. Last year someone was theorizing on this forum the stock GM fluid is too slippery and does not allow the synchros to do their job. Sounds plausible, but I'm extremely happy with the results. The stuff is not cheap, but you can order it from Amazon.com. 5Qts. I'll never use another trans fluid again, and I beat on my car; I've probably got 250 1/4 passes under my belt and ran 12.352sec @110mph today in 82 degree weather at Byron Dragway.

I have the same Problem in my 2012 Camaro. I also had the same problem in my 2010 Camaro. I've taken it into the dealership several times and they said operating as designed.
I have had so many problems with my car I'm just going to do a lemon law on it. I hope the next one is not like this since this will be my third Camaro.

At this point, it can't hurt to have people start reporting their TR6060 issues with the NHTSA https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ if they haven't already done so.

New to forums and just found this thread after posting other places...I have a 2013 2ss Rs LS3 M6 and I started having a rattle in the hurst shifter and burning smell after only 50 miles...its been in 2 times and I have been told it's normal operation and its OK to drive. After it continued to happen and rattling got louder and now the chrome circle piece is now loose on hurst shifter from the rattling, I took it in again and tech said he is going to look at it under warranty, cause when he drove with me this last time he said it sounded odd or different than normal...but he needed to search for a TSB (not sure if I got that right) and I would have to bring it back... but it was OK to drive. I have since parked it and it will be going in to dealer again this Friday when I get home from work (work out of town). If I hear anything (which I doubt I will) I will definitely post it here!!

Well just thought I would Chime in! I also have had issues with the 1-2 shift, It does not seam to be as bad if the transmission is up to temp but when cold and I don't mean freezing, I live in FL you can grind 2nd gear very easily, Like some of the posts above I've been driving stick shift cars on and off the track for over 40 years.
Is GM going to address this? I would say no from 2010 to present there is allot of M6 Camaros out there and these is a internal trans issue

I just took my 2010 Camaro 2SS into the dealership today about my shifting problems. (I have a hurst shifter.) The Tech who drove my car immediately got the transmission to grind without even driving it hard. He did make a comment about my hurst shifter, but my car grinded the gears even before I installed the hurst. I have the stock hurst shifter boot/knob on my car, hopefully they don't give me crap about my aftermarket shifter and just fix their terribad transmission.

I will let you guys know how it goes....

I changed out my trans fluid to synthetic Redline D4 ATF. Although it is somewhat better it is still notchy. I am waiting on my MGW shifter to come in today. If that doesn't fix it completely i'll change out the clutch fluid to synthetic but i think these transmissions pretty much suck as far as shifting smooth. I've had many many cars with manual transmissions with mega miles on them and this by far is the worst transmission i've ever driven.
