The CNNMoney article criticized the A6 found in the V6 Mustang. Plus, I'd assume it might be a weak link... considering Evolution blew a clutch lol.

ok i did not see those. i was talking about the one video and i think it was not c&d some other people who did the comparision. but either way they dynoed it at K&N and said it was stock and it was putting out 420 or something like that.

thats all i was saying. i am not bashing the mustang for having close power or anything. i was just pointing out in another vid they claimed the musang had again 400 something to the wheels stock.

Motor Trend's car that went 12.8 was not a ringer. We already have seen a base 2011 GT with the sorry 18 inch wheels and horrible tires along with just a 3.31 gear run 12.7s.

I can understand a stock clutch letting go after several hard launches on a tire.

I just hope it is a bad batch of parts. Either way if their is a problem ford will be forced to address it.

And yes I think ford dropped the ball with the autos in the stangs.

I'm sorry I don't limit myself to one type of vehicle. The point of the article is that times changed, and if you're looking for a lightweight vehicle you should probably look at Civics. However, you also have to realize that different companies take different directions to get different results. Dodge and Chevy have chosen to stick large displacement engines to make a lot of power on a larger vehicle, while Ford has chosen to make a more technical engine that doesn't make as much power but still moves a lightweight vehicle as quick as the other two.

I am not sure how to respond to this, I guess we all have different interpretations of what is rude and what is informative. You may be the least informative person whose posts I have ever read, for what it's worth.
I've never started a single thread about mustangs or ford for that matter. I simply comment on and correct the statements already being made about the mustang here. More than half of the mustang threads are made by camaro drivers. I don't know what you expect. It's like getting pissed about a group of democrats talking about republicans. Look at the original posters of the mustang threads currently on the first page of this section-

"2011 5.0 brembo question," "2011 mustang v6 vs 2010 mustang gt," "2010 gt500," "took a ride in a 5.0," "2011 mustang gt dyno baseline video," "driving 2011 mustang... first impressions"

All of those are on the first page and they are all made by either camaro guys or in the livernois case, a vendor. What do you want to happen here? Do you not want the guys that are more knowledgable about mustangs to post in the threads about mustangs? What would happen to your information if that happened? There are one or two threads made by mustang guys, but the majority are made by chevy guys and we chime in because we know more about the mustangs. It's exactly what should happen and for the most part, I think the threads have stayed pretty calm and respectful. I know for a fact if there were 20 threads on mustang forums about camaros there would be a ton of camaro guys in there. It happens all the time. That's why these forums are useful because you can get info from the people that know.

i got a chevy because i got tired of losing. if you can't beat'em, buy a Camaro.
So uhh how do you explain a 12.7 with the 3.31's? Have you ever been to mustangforums? I'm assuming you haven't because there are hundreds and hundreds of guys that own different cars there. Tons of ls1 guys, tons of srt4's, tons of everything. You just don't see as much whining about it.

The guy that ran 12.77 @ 112mph stock in the base gt is saying after around 30 passes with hard powershifting the car is now howling in every gear.

hopefully it is just a bad tranny. if not ford will have to address the problem if more tranny issues come up.

bad synchro? It would be odd for him to have that issue, but evo hasn't.

Someone on LS1tech said Evo had a problem with the car. Can't confirm that at all though.

Hopefully it is just a freak incident.
