Natti, congrats on your new car! I got one of those too!

Everything I hear from everybody says that yes, you should have snow tires. I live in Minnesota, and I drove once for about four blocks in about a half inch of snow last March, and it was impossible. You'll be a lot happier with snowshoes!

Natti-congrats on your new car. If you can afford a set of dedicated winter tires, you won't be disappointed. You are now driving a front engine, rear wheel drive car. If you're used to a front wheel drive where the weight of the drivetrain is over the wheels, you're in for a little learning curve in the snow.

Every tire design is a compromise between mileage, traction, ride and noise. All season tires try to do everything so their wide application means they usually aren't great at any single capability. Winter tires (and summers for that matter) are more narrowly focused and therefore less of a compromise. Once you use winter tires, you'll never go back.

Can you tell us exactly what brand, model and size tire is on your car?

Nat-post a picture of your tire. All that info is on the outside of your tire. There is also a plate on the inside of the drivers door that gives factory size and air pressure (though not brand). That looks like the 18" wheel. No need to be embarrassed. We all started with a blank page. This is a great place to learn about your Camaro. Keep reading....If you have time and interest, click on my journal link below. I go through a lot of the basics on purchase and bolt on mods.

Love your SW BTW...it is a blank canvas waiting for you to decorate it.

Now that you know the tire size, you can go to Tire Rack's website plug in your car info and tire size and see what all is available in your stock size and what the approximate cost is plus all the info you'd ever what about the particular tire you're interested in.

Any recommendations?
Blizzaks and Pirelli winter tires offer good wet traction and their winter compound will stay flexible in cold temps.

If you get very little snow you could also consider an all season tire like the General Gmax AS03 which are very solid in wet weather and you can use them year around. Please fill free to call me if you would like to discuss.

Yes snow tires make a huge difference in snow. Which trim level or what size is on your car and I can make some recommendations.

I read further and see you listed your size. They only make one snow tire in you size and its a Goodyear Ultra Grip GW3. They will work very well for you.

Rudy, how are the Yokohama iceGUARD iG51v compared to the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow and the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1. Also I have a 2010 1LT with the RS package and what would you recommend for size and tire. Thanks in advance.

Is Bridgestone still making a 20 inch Blizzack. I've searched around and don't see any on tire rack or the Bridgestone site.

Are you downsizing wheels or staying with the 20 inch wheels? The Yokohama are very good but not quite to the leve of the Scorpion or Blizzak.

They make a 245/45R20 Blizzak LM 32 which you can run on all 4 corners for winter driving.

I plan on downsizing to a 18 or 19 inch.

Do you have them in stock? Will they fit on the rear rims?
