I don't know about that. The original '69 ZLI could be ordered with a Turbo 400 automatic and 22 were. Good old boys back then.

Driving a tradition manual transmission should be part of the drivers test... It's beginning to become a forgotten skill.

I think the fact that only 22 Auto 69 ZL1's were ordered should be a hint for the new ZL1.

If sticking with tradition/history an auto option should be available for those who so desire.

My vote.....No, however, each driver should at least have a choice. Expect to pay a good deal more for the automatic. However, if a person is willing to shell out the added cost.....well, then don't be surprised by that. When I say added cost........the automatic will be more, and expect the gas tax (maybe). A lot of folks may only be able to drive an automatic, and GM would stand to sell a few more vehicles by offering that option. The ZL1 will be too strong to limit it's sales to just the M6.
