3) I would love to see annual shows as big and as organized as the Trans Am Nationals http://www.78ta.com/nats/ . Perhaps it could even be at the same location the week before or after the Trans Am show. Maybe we could get an active enough local group to lead a regular national Camaro show.

4) Maybe we could have our own weekly or monthly cruise-in at rotating locations.

5) I would like to see some mini tour events so that we can all drive our cars together rather than just park them.

6) I'm willing to help with this.
I am in. I already belong to a horse club and a Jeep club both where we take weekend trips to go trail riding, why not add soemthing else. I am not sure how much I can contribute but I would love to be part of something local. I would do some cruises or meets. I would even be willing to maybe do a fall get together at my place. Its in Georgetown, 45121 but I have a huge yard plus it would be a great ride for you guys from Dayton/Cinci down US 52 to brown county. beautiful drive along the river.... just thinking maybe... For #5 may I suggest Hocking Hills around the Old Mans cave area... great roads and plenty of places to stop and chat/admire/showoff the cars.

Well I am back form Myrtle Beach... But I am totally psyched as next week is my TPW and I hit 3400 early so I am betting its an early build. And I am taking my IROC to have the tranny repaired on Tuesday. And I am getting my barn finished in the next few weeks so I can bring the 67 home and start putting it back together! Now that all the wedding (June 27) stuff is wrapped up, I can get back to business... playing with my Camaros!

Hocking Hills State Park does have some pretty fun roads to drive on...I enjoyed throwing the Malibu into some curves, it'd be 10 times better in a Camaro.

Who here has registered for the Tallmadge show? http://neocc.homestead.com/

I'm not currently planning on attending as I may be on a business trip around that time.

I am for sure going. Already paid but I have family in NE Ohio so I will be staying with them all weekend. Driving up friday and home sunday. Leaving West Chester about 3:30 if anyone wants to follow me up. The show should be pretty good and Summit Racing is awesome if you have never been I suggest checking it out. I plan to buy a thing or 10!

I hope everyday that the SS gets here in time for me to Zaino it and get the windows tinted before the trip...

Unfortunately I can't offer a room to anyone but there are tons of places to stay in Akron. I plan to go to the show early Saturday morning then back Sunday morning and head home from the show at an undetermined time. I will also likely head into Boardman at the ond Sam's Club parking lot they have a huge cruise in every week. FYI: Cinci to Akron = 3.5 hours, Akron to Boardman = 1 hour. This is just driving, not figuring food/gas/gawking stops.

If I go, I'll probably leave West Chester sometime early Saturday morning...around 5:00ish.

Pink's heading up there as well, no idea what time she'll come through West Chester though.

Hi guys! RS_Man and I are busy for weekend of the Tallmadge event - bummer!

I second all the points that heinzd01 made in his above post list:

1) I was thinking all Gens also - the wider the appeal of the club the more successful it will be. A Camaro is a Camaro is a CAMARO!

2) The Southwest Ohio Camaro Club was the club I looked at when I first ordered my ride, and I was disappointed there was no activity. I agree that membership should be open to anyone in the general vicinity - and let's not leave out folks in eastern Indiana if they are willing to drive a bit to get to the area, especially if there's no club over their way.

3) If the NE can have a Camaro show, so can we. It would take some scrounging for sponsors, but there are plenty of locations to hold an event.

4) A weekly/monthly cruise-in close to various members' towns/homes/restaurants/parks/wherever would be a great way to have our meetings. It would be a good idea to have meetings year-round even if some of us put our cars up for the winter (yes, I'll be driving my Astro-bomb in the snow) so we can keep up with each other's mods etc. & keep on planning. Good clubs just don't come together without some work and time invested.

5) Driving tours would be a lot of fun. RS_Man & I are relatively new to the area so others who have lived here longer would have to make suggestions. A dining experience/sightseeing attraction might add to the appeal of this.

6) We would be more than willing to help work with anyone to get a club up and running.

God bless everybody on this Sunday that we're hoping will turn sunny! Stay safe on the roads, and please chime in with your feelings about starting up an organization of Camaro enthusiasts in the area.

Love this idea! My thoughts:

Fixed that for ya - LOL! I'd be OK with calling it "Camaro Club," but our Firebird and TransAm get lonely! Include them too? There are quite a few of them around. And yes, let's include all gens.

My husband has connections with a couple of shopping centers - one where he used to own the bar (and still holds the lease), and he's also in an AmVets org nearby - they are also in a shopping center with a roomy parking lot. We might be able to hook up with them on some charitable events along with our cruise-in.

That would be great! I am a web developer/programmer - would be willing to help with that part of it.

That would be great! One reason my husband joined the AmVets is because they have a bikers group who gets together on rides throughout the summer. There are a lot of scenic places we could go - I like Fenwick's idea of Hocking Hills area for starters.

Sorry! I thought it was Heinz' at first, then found Fen's reference and didn't look further. So thank you, jrhaus! Credit where credit is due~
