Ivan's Car Cont'd

I was told Ivan's ground effects and bumper covers went into the booth today . I couldn't get pictures as the booth was undergoing a bake cycle and the lights were turned off. I hope to see them in the AM.

I also saw that Andre's car pulled in this AM. I couldn't talk to him as I was in a meeting (like usual) . I'm assuming he dropped his car off so that they can remove the front bumper cover for Ivan's car. Andre is to get a new cover. I'm not too sure what it is so I'm curious. It's on order and should show up very soon.

We have five Camaros at Car Crafters (that's not counting mine). Ivans, Andres, an Orange one, a Silver one, and another Black one. All requiring repairs (either volunteer or due to damage). I guess people are getting a little crazy out there . They need to hook up with us so we can give them some driving instruction .

I wasn't able to talk to the Paint Manager to see if they are planning on the stripes tomorrow. I'll ask in the AM.

All for now...

Yeah not too bad only have 3/4's of the interior complete refabbed out and the trunk has about enough space left yo put one bag of groceries in the middle. we haven't broken in the 6 figures Yet... but there is still tomorrow.

Feels like Mission Impossible up in this thread!

Andre had the El Paso run this am. By 9 am, my man was already on the way BACK from EP. I stopped by CC this am (where there were about 800 cars in the lot awaiting repair....note to self-get job here...total security for life.../note) to sqaure away the final plans on the Sizzle.

There was another Black Dark blue Camaro in the lot. A LT V6. He'd backed into something...oooh, poor baby....try turn 11 sucka!

Since we couldn't get Andre's front end for her (after three tries), we made the "executive decision" to go "upstairs" and employ a new OEM GM fascia so that the CC team could get the car painted. Jim immediately put a handful of guys on the front end letting them know to "prep it for paint ASAP."

Jim and I went into the booth, took a few to lay the pinstripe out, and get the final lines righteous for the sweet lovin.

While Jim was knee deep in striping, I snuck off to the Paint Mix area and met up with "John" where we mixed up a couple of pretty awesome, one off custom colors for the licks.

Honestly, I thought I knew exactly what colors I wanted until I let John "show me an idea that he had."

Reminder to self....a painter with 28 years in the Booth is always a good dude to listen to when thinking about sheer, sheen, metallic, color bounce, reflectivity, and the likes.

Jim and I finished up a couple details on the striping before I gave my final "sign off" and like that....paint was initiated.

There will be no more pictures until she breaks out.......

As of 6:49 PM, the car lacks colorsand and buffing/polishing.

Planning on busting her out of Car Crafters NLT Wednesday PM.

It's been three weeks, two days, 10 hours and about 3 minutes since Onstar initiated "The Call."

I can wait another 48 for the return of "The Sizzle."

Geeked.

Ivan: I didn't realize that you didn't get Andre's cover. I was sure I saw him drop off his car yesterday. Maybe it was that other black Camaro. Anyway, I'm glad you made your "executive decision" to get your beast on the road again. I did see the front cover but thought it was for another car.

That's right, I forgot about the dark blue Camaro. Actually, I know this guy. He's a fire fighter. Cool dude. His Camaro5 handle is 1425.

What happened was someone backed into him and took off. Not too bad of damage, but enough. He's planning on showing his car in the car show at Balloon Fiesta park this weekend.

I'm trying to get him out to the track and to meet up with us at the Meet and Greets.

Hang in there Ivan, I of all people know how hard waiting is. My car was gone or in pieces 4 months out of the year I've had her, but once we were reunited, all I can say is "The Sizzle" will be back very soon, better than ever, and so will you, behind the wheel as it should be, and all will be right with the world again!

Little MT, Very beautiful RJT Camaro!!!!! Can't wait to see Chantilly in person.

Wow Racer-X, I didn't recognize that was IAS at first. I'm not sure if we'll be in town this weekend yet or not. If we are, I'll try to attend your gig, and the SMS Track day on Sat. Nice install on that radar detector BTW, it blends right in. I'm curious to know where you'd put the parts on the stock grill.

Thanks David. Big up to ya for hooking up some love!!!
Can't wait to hear her after the install!!!

Bryan....take that damn Fail crap down and put up Keiths SS again. That stuff keeps throwing me off....ROFLMAO!!!! Just kidding brother. But serious, what's up with the name change?? PM me if you need to.

Diana-I can be patient...no worries at all. It's like that final stretch though...when you know Earthly Alignment is right around the corner and it's taking FOOOOOOOORRRRRREEEEVVVVVEEEER. LMAO The worst part is that I actually got some approval from the CFO to acquire the next "big thing" for the Sizzle, but she's...er...they...are making me wait till we get the Sizzle back to make sure she's "on the up." Whatever that means.

Big up to my bro Andre for taking time out of his day to touch bases with me, keep my mind right, and most importantly, hook me up with "his people" for my next step. Totally psyched I hooked up with this guy after losing contact with him for the last 6 years.

I'm warning you all now...if you plan on ever doing any serious mods to your car, stay away from Andre.

If you AREN'T planning on doing anything...still stay away from him!

He knows things that no one person should ever know.

Looks like we have a handful of new Camaro owners showing up. Been seeing so many new Camaros all over town and it's looking nice out there!

Again, welcome guys and gals! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

With that said, pickup is scheduled for 12:01 tomorrow.

Showtime.
