The only drawback I see is if you wait until the '11 and your back here in early May, going to miss most of the summer without a Camaro.

With something like the Challenger, where that first model year you couldn't get a manual trans, I'd have definately waited. But with the Camaro, they've got all the right goods right there in the first model year.

I've had Corvettes with some of the possible new stuff being kicked around as maybe for '11 and can't say that for me they were must have features. My '10 is exactly the way I would want it, can't think of any other features I would have wanted - or the price increase.

If it were me, I'd have an order lined up and timed to my arrival. Treat yourself to a homecoming present. Safe trip back! and Thank you!

No More Mustang Weight Advantage??

I found this online last week and I posted it in another thread but thought I'd go ahead and start this thread so people could see that it "appears" that the 2011 Stang will no longer have a weight advantage over our Camaros. That is, if this is accurate. I'm taking it with a grain of salt until I see further specs but it is interesting.

Sorry guys just realized I copied the wrong link.

...I don't see anything about the weight of the Mustang, or the Mustang at all, in that link?

Wrong link, but otherwise...

This has been brought up before. Powertrains aside, which actually should be the same or lighter, 2011+ models are not significantly lighter or heavier than the 2010 which they share essentially everything else with. Same car. The Mustang remains lighter, no change.

Some funky wording in articles apparently causing this chatter...but in reality, none of it would make any logical sense if you realize 2010 vs. 2011 is very little of anything, engine/trans aside.

Those technical specifications with official looking Ford logo would seem to indicate otherwise...looks like it's gonna gain a few.

and just for some further insight...

that 3603 isnt with the optional larger/heavier wheels, the engine carries a quart less oil, and the gas tank carries 3 less gallons of gas.

add those to the difference between solid axel and independant suspentioning and you have the things that account for the 246lbs weight difference.

the only question, is the gearing and hp going to be enough for the mustang to actually beat the camaro?
