pretty cool kinda pointless to put heat tape on if you aren't putting on a top though isn't it?

Yeah. It looks like there's a gap, and it doesn't seal with the hood shut. It would just pull heat in.

I wasn't specifically gonna use his design, just use it as a jumping point to build my own.

I would either close the top or adjust the top so it seals against the hood.

Jr, I see you got quoted in the paper today. DDN, page A8. Good job! (actually its a Cincy Enquirer story)

Always good to get quoted in positive articles. When I was construction engineer at the county, they only put my name in the paper when projects were delayed or having problems.

You going to be placing the dynamite?

Dynamite will topple Ohio's tallest bridge

Do I see a camaro cruise in the future to watch this bridge come down?

Thanks!!! That means a lot coming from you SIM... I was thinking it sounded a little negative towards what I said about the existing bridge. Like it makes it sound unsafe... WHICH IT'S NOT!! It's just old!

We've got bridge decks with concrete popping up all the time. People think the bridge is falling, but it's just the concrete overlays de-laminating. Another one they freak out about is the rusted rebar hanging down from the edges of full depth slabs. I just tell them those are "extra" bars we put in to protect the ones that count. (kinda true)

I may be able to do that... Not sure how close you can get as a "civilian" but I'll scope out the area and see if you can get a good viewpoint. A lot of areas will be blocked off... roadway, river, bike path but I can try to find something. It will be about a year from now... give or take.
