I just talked to Tom at IPS. He says the parachute and the racing seat look "bad ass."

I'll be going over there early next week to get some pictures.

We've also decided to go with a Callies Magnum Crank and Ultra Rods as well as solid roller lifters, new pushrods, camshaft (needed for solid lifters) and upgraded valve springs.

The engine needs to come back out of the car to do the head swap (they have to drill the block), so we decided to go all out with it.

I'm going to have a Callies Compstar Crank and Compstar rods to sell...

Stopped by IPS today. Tom suggested that I think about selling my long block which has 1000 rwhp components in it. He thinks we could save some time and money by starting with a new block and put the new crank, push rods, cam, pistons, and heads on it. All of the new components are rated for 1200 rwhp plus. So, rather that tearing apart a perfectly good long block, we could sell it and start fresh.

Decisions decisions.

Thanks, Russ. I'll try to get it together tomorrow. It's a great engine built for boost.

This sounds like a severe case of......

Scope creep (also called requirement creep) in project management refers to uncontrolled changes or continuous growth in a project's scope. This phenomenon can occur when the scope of a project is not properly defined, documented, or controlled. It is generally considered a negative occurrence, and therefore should be avoided.

Just sayin'

Nice car DE I read your entire journal and all the shenanigans over the last few days. I can only hope to one day have half the car you've built Smaug into.

We've decided to keep the block I have and put a new crank, rods, solid-roller lifters, cam, and valve springs in it.

Not too much longer. We hope to race in mid March.

Here are the events we plan to race at...
The 4 LSX Challenge events shown here plus C5Fest.
