You've probably seen the thread, but if not, this guy (and several others who have chimed in) have run mostly out of oil, and blew their engine. They were well within their oil change intervals, and were not showing any signs of problems.

Their engines were covered under warranty, but still, its better to catch it than blowing up and getting it fixed. If you notice your oil level is low (like not on the dip stick), get some oil in there and and if you're well within the oil change intervals, schedule an appointment at the dealer.

I think it's a work in progress, but he showed me the hood, fenders, bumper and grill he's getting. Flying SS is going to be SICK!!

Yeah, its still under construction. $12,356 in damage. Waiting on parts mostly now. Hopefully it'll be done this coming week.

A DIY question for you all. Have any of you painted your engine cover? I saw this post today http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70270 and I thought. WOW, I would really like to paint mine. I am just wondering how hard is it to remove the cover? I have been looking for video's on it and maybe I'll search the DIY posts more to see if I can find something.

It's not hard to remove the engine cover at all. Just remove your oil cap and lift the front of the cover straight up. It's attached to two pivot points towards the back of the engine. I have mine painted but I just paid RPI Designs to do it, or I should say I just bought a painted one from them. I really like it.
