Even though I prefer the looks of the s197 the s550 is a superior car. The mustang took a step in the right direction imo. It will appeal to more consumers on the current platform thus typical deperciation for the s197 rustang

You ever wonder why Mercedes or BMW value can go from 60k to next to nothing over 20 years yet pickup trucks start lower but never get much below 5k for a decent one. Both are mass produced; hell, way more pickups on the road. You look at what a dealer is willing to pay, but people will be modding used versions of these cars for years to come. Long after the Benzes and Beamers have been left for dead or worse have 30s put under them to roll around the hood. I hope they do go through the floor so I can pick up a supercharged one and maybe one for each of my girls. I'll just start Camaro acres.

Yes, but different mass produced vehicles depreciate at different rates. You rarely see popular muscle car body styles in in a junk yard unless they are a twisted mangled mess. Not so for the vast majority of other mass produced cars, even the expensive ones.

Lol.... Definitely, will hold more and have a better value than a Honda Civic ! Compare any gen Camaro to a civic and there you go ! Muscle cars go up in value imports not so much ! Maybe, something like the honda NSX I see going up in value!

In my humble opinion.
If the 6th gen. is visually similar to the 5th gen., meaning that it is mostly just evolutionary on the outside, then I don't expect the value of the V8s to nose dive. The 5th gen. is about the best thing around for people who want to mod their cars. More power, better handling and a different look than everyone elses. That is what I believe will help keep the price stable. Plus they are always going to be a great looking car. My 2 cents is that we aren't going to see any above normal depreciation.

The Ford dealer in my city has one 2015 mustang right now and that's all they ordered! i feel like because they haven't had many people come and ask about them. another ford dealer down the road has one as well, only one and not because they been selling them. a week ago they had TWO 2014 mustangs and one 2015 mustang. Guess which ones left the lot 1st!? the 14's are gone and nobody is looking at the 15 they have. the 2015 stang came in last monday. monday and tuesday the 14's were sold. My friend who wants one asked the dealer if anyone has looked at it and he said 1 older woman who has retired is looking at it, thats it. lol

v-8 engines are getting harder and harder to find in most American cars, Chrysler has the 300, challenger and charger, GM has the Camaro V, and ford has the mustang. So if the 6th gen doesn't offer a v-8 because of federal MPG and gives you a turbo v6 instead, the fifth gens will fare better as well in the long run. it the short run they will dropp, but if your planning on keeping In a long time, you will get alot of smiles down the road when they look under the hood, OH MAN THAT'S A V-8 , my grandfather told me about those but I didn't believe it. Hehe

You'll be able to purchase a 15 at fire sale prices if thats your thing.
Unless theres something REALLY special about the '16, I'll hold onto what I have in the driveway now. |
