At the risk of being shunned from this forum... I purchased and installed this CAI. Install was very simple, the only thing I had to "modify" was moving the clip on the MAF wiring that goes to the radiator hose to get a little more slack in it (it connected but wiring was bent too severely for my preference). I prefer it over other aftermarket units because it looks like it belongs on the car, and does not have near as many hose clamps. Sorry, no dyno or driving impressions - here in Indiana I won't get it out of the garage until it warms up and washes the salt off the roads.

Here's a sort of blurry pic (sorry):

It's been getting ripped on a lot from some of the threads I've looked at... price wise, and the lack of info from Chevy about it.

Yes, I have seen that. Warranty thing is laughable, ALL CAIs "void" the warranty, so that is a wash. Lack of info I guess is no power #s, we are the guinea pigs, someone is bound to test one. And pricewise, yeah, it's a bit more than others, but the quality is top notch.

Has anyone tried this on a L99? I heard that it's "not recommended".. Which doesn't make any sense

As the OP, I figure I should weigh in, since I finally got the part and installed it (ordered from Jegs four weeks ago, best price with free shipping but major issue getting the kit).

Anyway, the kit looks awesome installed, except I don't like the catch can tube installed with just the kit pieces. (I have a 1LE) I'm gonna get the parts from the automotive store and clean it up. I definitely noticed an improvement in sound and a big improvement in feel and response. And it looked at least as big as the Airaid intake I had on my Avalanche! Nice work Chevrolet.

My Z/28 intake didn't have that piece that goes on the hood.

I also ordered my Z28 air intake from JEGS about 4 weeks ago, should be here tomorrow. Will post pics from every angle. I will probably install it in a couple of weeks beacuse I want to dyno my car stock, and then with the Z28 intake, to measure the difference. Though I know the difference will be felt.

Don't forget to video it on the dyno and snap the screen charts!
