I don't think all cars are the same. It would depend on the brands of parts in the cars and the calibrations of those parts. On my car the low fuel light would come on with 3 gallons left. Then the dealership changed the fuel pump and sending unit. Now the low fuel light comes on with 2 gallons left. I would just drive the car till the fuel light comes on and then fill it up. That will tell you how much fuel is left in the vehicle for peace of mind.

Ok, the tank size is 19.2 gallons... you had 4.3 gallons left at that point.

THIS
When I start to see that 1/4 fill line peaking out behind the right side of the needle I get jittery. Lol

I wouldn't wait on fuel level to get low, fuel pump might suck some dirts from tank to engine.
19gal is ideal volume of tank, in reality I would subtract 1-1.5 gal because of the shape of tank! |

LOL, this is way to funny not to pass up. First I have to say I have never heard of dirt floating in gas so if you have dirt in your tank it will get sucked up full or empty. Second thing is if it actually gets sucked up it will never make it to your engine unless you pulled out the inline fuel filter!!! Last thing is if you ever find dirt in your tank you might want to stay away from discount Charlie's when filling up your car! Dean. |

I got it at about 40 miles and filled up about 10 miles later...and still had 3 gal in the tank. So I really had 60+ miles I could have actually traveled. It's an estimate, but you should know how far you can go if needed.

Should be about 2.5gal left in the tank at low fuel. I get the warning with about 45 miles left on my tank according to the dic; usually there are a little less than 3 gallons left when it pops up.

Be humble or buzz off

Mine took a little over 16 gallons after the warning came on just yesterday.
I have always thought, and still maintain the belief, that runnign a tank down low is not good for the injectors.
