Camaro gets very little driving lately with the supercharger I’m lucky to get 14 mph city driving. I’m lucky to have retired early because my commute would have been rough with these prices these days.

But…that was a couple dollars a gallon ago. It’s had an impact on me. I’m retired too but at $6.99 for premium - with a Newsom gas tax HIKE coming, it’s going to be even more painful. But that is the plan after all. You’ll have nothing and be ‘happy.’

I’m finding it hard to feel sorry for people, in general, about high gas prices. The last few times I’ve driven on the highway I’ve set my cruise at 5 over the speed limit (that mere effort lowers my fuel consumption considerably), yet 90% of people are passing me at much greater speeds. This seems to be the rule, not the exception. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

Driving a little slower saves gas and takes less money out of your pocket is all I’m saying. Signed, A spokeshole who could care less if gas goes to $10 a gallon. Not my problem. |

eh just got back from the hot rod power tour. filled the car up almost every day last week. i noticed that gas is considerably cheaper the farther south you go. $5 for regular in indiana, was under $4 down in the pan handle of florida.
i made the same observation regarding the speed at which people drive. must not be hurting too bad. it's still like race day on the highways.

I run E15 88 octane in my DD 2019 Cruze. It's .30-40 cheaper than E10 Regular where I fill up. I average around 34-36 mpg for hwy and have hit 40.5 mpg on occasion. I run E85 for the ZL1 which is around $4.00 per gallon.

my priorities have always laid with car stuff. gas prices are whatever. gotta have it, i fill up the dd once every 3 weeks. usually fill the camaro up a couple times a weekend.
the prices of gas have not affected what i do, at all. i'm not rich or wealthy, im an inherent tight ass with old everything. i stocked up on oil (about 20 gallons now) and filters out of difficulty finding it late last year and early this year. the car is my safe space and it will be the absolute last place i make any concessions.
