Regina motor products, in Regina Saskatchewan, Canada stated that their customers will pay what they see or to bad the next person will, and there will be no test-driving the Camaro. A salesman that was not happy with that decision of the management quoted this to me.

Ed Morse Pontiac in Sunrise, FL gave me an attitude about test driving a G8 when they first arrived. Had 1000 or $2000 markup on it too. When I called the saleman on his attitude he started changing but I was already pissed and told him to keep his lousy G8's.
Then, a couple of weeks later I went to the ED Morse Chevy store (same lot, separate stores) and they were very nice, but they said the sky's the limit on price gouging new Camaros. Told them I wanted to order one at msrp, and the mgr said he would. A couple of days later I wanted to check if they would order more than one Camaro for other members at msrp before posting info, and they won't answer or even call me back.

So out of curiousity I went to the website of the dealer that sold me the GTO and asked whether they will sell the new Camaros at MSRP or below. Their answer? We don't know what the pricing of the Camaros will be yet.
Wow. He didn't even answer my question at all. Doesn't sound good. Hopefully the guy is just a 'tard.

I talked to one of our local dealers here in EP and they said that they were going to have them marked up around 2,000 to 5,000. Unfortunately this place gets first dibs on all the cars that are worth looking at like the corvettes. They have always gotten the first dibs on all new corvettes.
The place was mission chevrolet at 1316 george dieter EP texas |

so, how much would all of you sell your current car for? As much as you thought you could get for it right? Why is it wrong for dealers to do that too?

^Because we only have one. They have many....
OOooh....and because GM says, "MSRP." So....if GM says MSRP and then a dealer says MSRP plus our "increased market value," I say screw'em. I mean, WE can't go order from GM. We are forced to order from a dealer who wants to get the most they can. Better yet...let's try an example.. 1. Price of a barrel of oil. If it's okay to try to make the most money out of it, why not just price it at $200? Heck...why not $300?? We don't have the control over the cost of a barrel of oil just like we don't have control over actually GETTING the vehicle at MSRP. If we all could order from GM at MSRP, I'm sure there would be a lot of happy customers. If we could actually have some competition in purchasing gasoline, some prices just might come down. This gasoline deal is freakin BS by the way... No...I don't think dealers should be able to charge over MSRP. I think that if there is that high of a demand on a vehicles that they can't keep any on their lots (they keep selling like hotcakes so dealers think they can add a 20K market adjusted value), then: 1. GM didn't study up on their pricing enough and screwed up by pricing too low. 2. They aren't making enough vehicles to go around and need to ramp up production. Price above MSRP shouldn't be an option for dealers. If you want to sell our cars, you will sell them at no more than MSRP. If there is a higher demand than that, we will fix our pricing or put out more vehicles. Simple as that. |

I've never paid anywhere near sticker for any vehicle I've ever owned, and never will. I've had my experiences buying and have learned quite alot over the last 14 years of ownership. The dealers want you to think they're not making anything on the car, but no doubt, they are. When I get ready to purchase the Camaro and he offers some inflated price, I'll laugh and tell him to take $10K off and call me when it's ready! If not, I'll just find someone who will.

Got my two

A heads up to everyone:
I sent out a few emails to local dealers about the Base V8 Camaro and their plans on pricing - If they were going to add to the MSRP and got a very humorous in that he was so full of crap. Hello _____ Thank you for your purchase request on a SS Camaro. We are not taking deposits on the Camaro yet, and we are waiting to get pricing on the vehicle. We will be asking the market value and will accept a deposit when we get allication to build the car. Geno Neagle Sales Manager Colonial West Chevrolet gneagle@colonial-west.com www.colonial-west.com www.buycolonialwest.com 314 John Fitch Hwy Fitchburg MA 01420 978.342.8713 800.630.8159 To which I responded: Market value meaning that you might put a market adjustment price onto MSRP? To which he said: We'll have to wait and see. To which I said: Thanks for the response. I think you answered the question, which was really more about the ethics at Colonial. To which he said...and this was so funny: Your right, we are disclosing the fact that there is going to be a premium on the Camaro, were not going to wait until last minute to tell you, no surprises, I think your going to find that all dealers are going to sell for market value, and if they say there not, it's probably because they're not getting one. So there are dealers that aren't going to get Camaro's??? Unreal the crap that GM dealers will say. No freaking wonder I went to foreign models for so long. |
