Other than aesthetics, what is the difference between the T304 and T409 tubed systems? The tips are the same, right? Is there a weight penalty with the 409 system? Any idea how much, if any, weight is saved with this system? Is there *any* cutting of the stock exhaust system to install this?

Thanks, and it looks very nice btw. My buddy has an MBRP on his S197 'stang and it's a really nice product.

Oh, and forgot to ask. What's the deal with the crossbrace? Is that a requirement with this system or is it just something you added? Thanks again.

The Pro Series is made from T304 Stainless steel. ($1,100) XP is made from T409 Stainless. ($960)

Copy/Paste from a different article I read..........

Why 409 type Stainless Steel pipes and shells?
409 type Stainless Steel is specially designed for automotive exhaust
systems.
409 type Stainless Steel resists atmospheric and automotive exhaust gas
corrosion.
409 type Stainless Steel developes a light surface discoloring which will
retard progressive corrosion.
409 type Stainless Steel contains 10.5%...11.75% Chromium
Why 304(14G) type Stainless Steel tips, flanges, internals and brakets?
304 type Stainless Steel contains 18%...20% Chromium and 8%...10.5% Nickel.
304 type Stainless Steel has excellent heat, oxidation and corrosion
resistance.
304 type Stainless Steel Looks great and will shine for ever!
How to clean Stainless Steel .
409 type Stainless Steel can be cleaned with non metallic pot scrub pads
and soap, ammonia, liquid or powder detergent.
304 type Stainless Steel can be cleaned with non metallic non abrasive
cleaning pads or brushes with soap or liquid detergent, use "Chrome polish"
if necessary.
Do not clean with Steel Wool or a Steel Brush --->
surface rust will result.
*************
The most common stainless steel used by muffler shop is the T-409. Borla
use T-304 stainless steel grade. It's why the price is so different. A
Borla looks great and will shine for ever!
T-409 is good for peoples who live where there are no calcium or where the
corrosion is not a problem.
T-304 is for north american and canadian peoples who want to keep their
cars for more than 3 years in a corrosive environment"

As far as the Chassis Brace............... It looks great! I don't know if it comes with the system or if it is an extra accessory.

Paint those GFX !!!

and... the rectangular tips stick out too far... looks like tips inside of tips. I would back them into the GFX outer tip at least 2-3 inches.

it sounds good though!!

Ummm I think it's a bit pricey... but they do sound awesome. Definitely more my style than most of the other exhausts I've heard. I'd be interested in an axle back setup so I can bolt them up to long tubes and high flow cats.

Thumbs up

I like the sound and look. Good job on the videos, as others have mentioned that the companion camera rocks!

A rectangular tip works better for me because I prefer to have the GFX package (my wife is a purist and doesn't like the GFX, nor the midnight wheels that go with the RS pkg). More rectangular tip options would be great, from GM or after-market, to help me sell GFX.

Thanks for the good work.

I think I am sold on this setup. I was considering the Loudmouth II, however I have a feeling that is going to have too much drone at highway speeds. This sounds like it will have less drone, while still having a nasty snarl. If the hp/tq increase quoted is legit, that is the icing on the cake.

$1,100 for that system is pretty reasonable actually.
