If you guys are racing at the drag strip I'd say a set of drag radials is all you need. I own a 3.7 and it's not like they sixty all that great.

If the rear suspension is stock, this is true. If he's done anything to eliminate wheel hop, this is far from true. 1.5-1.6 60' is pretty common for a bolt on, suspension and tired 3.7. I used to be a really, really big disbeliever on what those things could do - until I saw ones properly setup.

Stick that launch and ride it out. I think you'll get him if he's not paying attention.

Had to comment on this lol. I agree...leaving out the turbo 4 (b/c we all know with an aggressive tune, and tires that little guy is going to run 12s) but with the claimed "nearly" 300 pounds lost, more power, and an 8 speed auto I just don't see how a 2016+ V6 with proper bolt ons and tires won't get into the 12s.
Its ashame we haven't seen the 5th gen V6 get into the 12s like the Mustang guys have, but it is going to happen for sure this time around. I think the 2016 V6 is going to be awesome. I'd love to have one, but this time around I think I'll be going with a 1SS. Quote:
As far as "canned" tunes...I had Trifecta. I had it for awhile, but never really noticed much in the way of gains. Over time it even felt like the car was getting sluggish, so I went back to stock tune. It felt as good or better (I lean towards better) on the stock tune. Eventually I went with the IPF tune. Now that tune really does something. Noticeable improvement in throttle response and low end pull. It stays with the car too. I recently removed the tune when I sold my car, and the loss of low end response was noticeable.
