Never heard of the CD test, thanks for sharing. I agree, makes you think how some of those things I've been using aren't good for my cars. No wonder my sport red Suburban always looks like spider webs. Thanks again

Besides the Porter polisher what other polisher are good but not this expensive?? The Porter's go for $120 to $200. Is there anything a little cheaper in price but still works pretty good?

Bring It

no, you should buy a mit. A sponge keeps all the grit you are trying to wash off at the surface of the sponge. By the end of one stroke you've successfully ground all of that all the way across.

Best way to clean windows without scratching and streaking is to use only water to clean and dry with newspaper. Not the comics, adds or anything else with color. learned tis from an old janitor many years ago. Really removes the film created by the evaporation of the chemicals from the plastics in the interior.

We have discussed this before, but in case you didnt see it here it goes.do not clay bar the stripes,do not buff the stripes. Now for the wax part,Do not use a wax that dries before removing.Examples of some of the products that can be used on the stripes are zaino but i am not familiar with this product but Moose is.Also the ones i am familiar with are adams, formula 113 and most of the detailer sprays wether it is adams,formula113,lucas the meguirs has a tendancy to build up and begin to smear.I use these products on 9 cars and 3 trailers.Try any of these products and make your own opinion.

I know it's a cheap wax but how about Turtle Wax Ice? It doesn't dry with a white residue and I used it on the flat black wiper arms a few years ago on an old car. When you apply a sealant should you apply it to the flat black stripes?

As for the srtieps, my advice would be; do not use a wax, and if you try any polish, try it on a very small, inconspicuous spot first. Ed |
