I don't have 2" long tubes so perhaps you'll get a little more power out of the heads and cam. I also have cats still on my car. E85 might be the next step to get you up to 600 RWHP. You'll need at least 90 lb/hr injectors.

The posts in this thread where the cars have made ~575 whp with their mods seem most accurate.

From ~492... Guess is: headers and BTR 3= 545whp, + TB & IM= 563whp, + porting= 571 whp.

If 600whp is the goal, as mentioned, fuel choice may get you closer but without a bump in compression to ~12:1 or greater or additional part cost, its a reach. The 600 claims seem way generous in most cases. There is no honest way 575 could/should be surpassed with your mods... on a dyno giving the numbers how they should be.

The cam choice seems right on for keeping it enjoyable enough for cruising... any more aggressive hp goes up while your hp to torque output starts to separate more. Although a BTR 4 or similar spec with E or 100+ could make up 20 peak whp easy.

Tony Mamo of Mamo Motorsports is seeing big gains by porting the MSD Atomic IM's with 102 TB's. He recently had a cammed LS7 with stock LS7 intake + TB go over to his Mamo ported MSD Atomic intake + 102 TB and gained of 46 rwhp on pump gas.

46 rwhp with a ported Atomic and a TB!

Agreed, unless you go forced induction OR a new long block config 575 is about the happy place of this engine.

I have the stage 5 on my car, if I wanted more, the build cost over doubled. I looked at Katech as well, the price gets crazy beyond a certain point.

We have done many over 600 rwhp including mine on 93 pump gas,
blah blah on dyno #s, we have been in biz for 15 1/2 years and done probably 250+ LS7 cars. Our dyno reads the same as most or under unless you are talking about a Mustang dyno which they do normally show 3-4% difference than Dynojets.

Cam choice obviously makes a big difference, especially when you take advantage of the higher flowing ported or aftermarket heads.
My Mast heads are not ported but with porting the Mast heads, MSD intake and a different cam choice I believe 620-630 rwhp is doable with pump gas.

You also have to remember selling the stock heads will recoup $800-$1000 towards Mast or Trick Flow heads.

Ive been seeing the MSD IM porting show real gains as well. Porting the IM and heads (if needed) can give better numbers, no doubt.

Also, skipping the dyno number talk is a good idea. Like I said, a majority of setups seem not capable of 600+. Anyone can achieve a number or calibrate a dyno to satisfy number goals.

It is decent when a facility or customer give all details. It benefits the community and prevents misleading. In an example, when the setup is exceeding 600whp there is admittance of aggressive modifications, fuel type, extra porting, higher compression, cam specs i.e. revealing of all mods/ costs with achieving the goal. It is very believable. The common: we installed this this and this, nothing unique is noted, did awesome tuning and made 610... is not convincing.

I had my original heads re-ported, Stage4 cam, MSD Intake, American Racing Headers X pipes (no cats), 95 Octane. Unless we all tune our cars on the same dyno the numbers don't really mean much. With this horsepower and torque and the suspension mod's I made this car has moved into 1:48 times at Auto Club Speedway. Should be able to get it to 1:46 with more time in the seat.

Mustang Dyno 585/499

The biggest thing that is going to hold back this car is weight.

Right, it's about relative gains compared to your original numbers in SIMILAR conditions.

My tuner in Richmond highly recommends the Katech Torquer cam for its low end numbers and horsepower under the curve.

Well Boys, I pick up my modded Z tomorrow.
I took the day off the enjoy the car, and then I may track it on Saturday at Homestead Raceway!
I was torn between the Torquer and the BTR Stage 3, but ultimately chose the BTR as they said it was more aggressive and I want this Z to be everything it can be
I'll make a post once I get it home!
