A lot more room to get down in this pocket area to hopefully tuck it all in there. Those fittings did work I posted back a bit for the master cylinder and transmission connectors to convert to 4an

I literally just spent 4 hours trying to get all of the air out of the system. What a pain in the butt! I swaer it must have been sucking air in somewhere, so I tightened up all the fittings as hard as I could.
After 4 hours of screwing around bleeding it I think I am almost done. The clutch pedal felt way too soft, so I did it all over again. Hope to get the car started and mobile on the weekend. Question for you guys... What are you running in the 1/4 mile??

I heard stories these clutch systems when tons of air gets in them from working/ replacing stuff they can be tough to bleed fully. **Did you happen to remove the OEM pedal spring? Are you using any spring now that the tamer is installed? I am currently NA on stock motor internals. I plan to go FI and cam upgrade at some point but want to get this thing figured out a bit more on the issues i am seeing with the car's 60' times. I was getting 1.8 before and now i can not get lower than 2.0. I think it has to do with the slipping of clutch and the new clutch more powerful and wants to grab faster and harder causing it to bog or it ends up having a slight dip in rear then bog then hit power then dip all in like a 1-2 sec, so its killing the time in 60'. This past fall, For the 1/4, my personal best time was 12.4 at 115 and my consistent times are usually 12.5's-12.6's. Only motor mods are intake, exhaust & tuning, wheels are R/S -17" drag pack(4.5 & 10.5) and weight reduction- current weight is 3598lbs. 100% suspension fully upgraded and all supporting components. My 60' is my biggest issue and i believe this clutch device should improve the 60' time and 1/4 time overall.

I did not take out the pedal spring. I've always had the Lingenfelter return spring in the car just in case I ever had a problem with the pedal sticking. I'm not sure if it will be needed now?
I broke the output shaft on the transmission last year and just replaced it with an upgraded one from RPM. Replaced the master cylinder with an adjustable tick performance one. And installed the Hitmaster. That's alot of plumbing with alot of air in the lines. You are going to love the FI when you get it. 15" wheels will get the 60ft down for you. I was hoping to get into the 10's last year and went 10.2 so this years goal is to get in the 9's!!

Thanks for the heads-up no the line protection. I ordered 3/8 stuff from DEI. Hopefully it won't be too tough to get over the -4an stuff. I'm going to wrap my hard line components from the line lock too so I wanted it to be tighter. Parts should be here Monday. I'll get some pictures when I put it together.
I just finished the car late last season and have only been to the track once. 60ft - 2.18 ET - 11.20 MPH - 140 You'll see one of those numbers is not like the others... I'm easily in the 9's if I can learn how to drive. |

9's for sure once you get it to hook up

I managed to fab up a custom mounting bracket for the solenoid and the solenoid put on it today. Now I can finally start roughing in the plumbing fittings to see if and what will work out like I had thought on paper and in my head. I made a few changes to my game plan the other day so ordered a couple more different fittings to allow me more flexibility as I plumb this all up.

Probably going to give the bracket a more defined shape when I’m done and have plumbing roughed in....

Definitely a good start. I think I'm going to have to reconsider my mounting position as well.

Here is the mounting bracket I made up Sunday and last night achieved the final shape. I will sand and polish it up nice before I permanently install everything. I managed to get the needle valve adjuster in and couldn't be happier with the placement. It sits about the same height as the main brake fluid reservoir and is very convenient to see and adjust once it's all done and in use. Just waiting on a few of the last bits of fittings to arrive to finish all the plumbing.

Anyone thought about using compression fitting on the hard line to install there system? I have access to a bunch of them and that’s what I’m planning on doing, also have the an4 fittings Incase it doesn’t work lol

abshire1006 - I'm going all steel braided AN to limit the amount of potential areas for leaking. I've read that compression fitting on brake systems are generally frowned upon and in some states that require inspections, actually not acceptable, but I have no first hand experience.
Jayjellyfish212 - Now I really have to reconsider my mounting idea. I like the way you've set up the adjustment valve. Very clean and super easy to access. I need to think through this and stop buying/returning stuff to Summit... LOL |
