Thank you RPO! This was an excellent idea and is a fabulous "helping hand" that you are providing to the Camaro5 community.
You are a gentleman (or lady?) and a scholar (OK, I don't really know that to be true but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt!!!) THANK YOU!!! |

New Screen shot from today.
Notice the tabs at the top and how the event codes are classified by range. When I run this same report tomorrow, this order should be in the "In System" tab.

Just got this info from my DSM.. You can say you saw it here first!!
Enjoy: "AND here's another major event...05/06/09 - a national Camaro Reveal Event! WOW! We have all been waiting for this vehicle...lots of excitement....lots of enthusiasm....Would LOVE for all of my dealers to participate in this event...and as details evolve, I will share with you. By 05/06/09...EVERY Chevrolet dealer will have a minimum of ONE Camaro available for the reveal - so all dealers can participate. And we have Camaro Car Covers available - so be sure to order one of those from the NY ADI.....either red or gray...from what I hear nationally - supply is limited so don't be left out in the cold. Let's make the Camaro reveal one of the biggest events Chevrolet has seen in a long time.....Bring in your local media....local car enthusiasts clubs...have an unveiling on the web.....create an event- make it exciting and fun." Well, it's the usual Wednesday morning routine. Got my DD coffee (medium, light, no sugar with half and half) and whole wheat bagel with cream cheese (not toasted, thank you) and it's off to GM Global Connect. As promised, here's the screen shot of our beloved Inferno Orange 2SS. Even though you don't see it, the status has changed to 2500. The dealer doesn't change the status. That is performed by the system automatically. The 2500 event code is known as "preferenced" and it is now in the "In SYstem" tab. There is no TPW at this time although we know it will probably be the week of 3/23. Questions from the class?

Thanks for this info RPO! I have already sent my dealer an email to keep check on them
Let me ask this....if they receive an allocation this week, HOW do they find out? Do they just look in the system? Get a phone call? How does that work? I know originally they were allocated 3, but their screen shows a total of 5. Should that low # worry me at all? I am reading these thread and seeing people's orders getting pulled all over the place.....and losing patience

How are the dealers informed when an order moves up in the event code? Do they just check the screen and it shows, or does GM contact them??? Thanks for the cool screen shots RPO!

"Congratulations, your Camaro has now moved out of the 1100 event level and is now a "Placed" order, moving up to event code 2500. They still have not "sequenced" your order, or assigned a "Target Production Week", but typically, this movement to event 2500 would indicate that we will get that Target Production Week estimate by next Wednesday. That will probably be the next time I will have any additional information available." |

Any order that was "Placed" yesterday and is "In Sytem" today, should have a TPW of 3/23-3/27. Notice I said "should".
To answer the question earlier about "Final Allocation". The dealer will get a report on GM Global Connect (GMGC) after they consense to units and that will tell them what they will get for the next four weeks in final allocation. I just ran the report again this morning and it is a February 2009 report for March production. So don't go hounding your dealer for next month's report because it's not yet available. When I see mine, I will post and then you can call your friendly Chevrolet dealer and ask nicely if you Camaro is next in line based upon his final allocation for March 2009 for April production. Try to make friends with your dealer. Giving them a hard time is kind of like complaining about the food to your waitress. You don't want a spitball in you meatball hero.
