How much would the pressure change from that point to the sensor and would that be measuring at the output side of the pump? If that is directly off the pump, couldn't there still be other problems within the engine that cause a loss of pressure between there and the rest of the engine?
Of course low pressure there would definitely indicate a problem. |

All right guys. I managed to get my pressure gauge hooked up where the sensor goes and when I cranked it my oil pressure shot up to 70 psi. The gauge in the car would only go up to 50 cold. So right then I realized that the pressure sensor was reading incorrect. So I already had a new sensor and managed to get it on. When I re-cranked it my gauge in the console shot up to 70 psi just like the mechanical gauge. So I took it for a drive for about 30 minutes to get the oil hot and wouldn't you know it reads 33 psi at idle, at cruising it sits at 50 psi, and at wot it goes to 80 psi.
So now I feel like a dummy. All you guys kept saying hook up a gauge hook up a gauge, and I kept on thinking there's nothing wrong with that darn sensor. I thought it was going to be a lot tougher than that to change it out. So I would personally like to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for all your help. So now I need to change those damn lifters. Now that's going to be a job!

I've got a couple that have gotten consistently louder and louder since my cam install. I thought that I had purchased gm performance racing lifters, but I actually got just the gm performance lifters and I don't trust them.

From my research, the Johnson 2110 lifters are supposed to be pretty good. I’ve got a set sitting in the garage waiting to go in my build. So I can’t personally vouch for them from experience. But that’s what I’m going with. Hard to find lately. But Scoggins Dickey had them in stock as of about a month ago.

Piss in the bucket ,lots of great feedback on the Johnson's over at LS1Tech. Spend the money now and save a PITA later.

I have heard good things about the GM/Cadillac Racing lifters, but I also hear they are noisy. I hear nothing but great things about Johnson Lifters.

You might just need to go to next size longer pushrod!

Just an update. I just got done with my lifter change today. I went with the gm performance racing lifters. Well they sound way better then the regular gm performance lifters. No more loud tapping. Their quieter at idle and definitely quieter at cruising speeds. Thank goodness. One thing though I can't figure out is why their quieter, because the ones I took out still look brand new on the rollers and the cam lobes also look new too. Maybe something internal in the lifters? Idk.
