AMG cars are $hit ???
German taxi cabs??? bad reliability?? average materials?

I would buy my S550 again despite the fact it costs twice as much as the V because in my opinion it's TWICE the car.

Old cts-v technology?? umm my friend they have been making it for 8 years and still can't get the wheels to hook up. rear diff problems - rattles-wheel hop- below average build quality ect and nothing has changed since 04 to 2011 except more power that doesn't work.....

hink

CL65 and E63 will run circles around it as all-around performers. Saw a C63 (same price as a V) on the track out run a V stock vs stock.
End of story- move on and enjoy your V.
Look TOBY... I'm gonna respond to your tired argument and move on afterwards. :emoticon7:

1) My '09 V has been exemplary. Everyone I kno who owns one agrees that it is a better car than some POS Benz.

2) My brother has a S550. It's TRASH. He hates it and at the end of his lease thank GOD... and is considering a used STS-V to replace it

3) It clearly says in my post that I have had experience driving and running various AMG cars. I don't speak about a car unless I've run that SOB for a nice bit of hrs behind the wheel. While I am certainly in love with the sheer power of the AMG vehicles... they are still unreliable from my observation and various experiences hearing an earful of how shitty they are. Check around... my word is GOLD

4) The E63AMG is a nice machine... and so is the C63AMG but neither will "run circles around" a CTS-V, CTC-V, or CTW-V. I have seen the same episode of "U Wish" as U have and each one... the CTS-V beat their ass... and lost in the comparo because of better leather offered at a $10K-20K premium.

5) I'm glad U have had a good thing in owning Benz... millions have not.. and as far as I'm concerned I'm glad Cadillac is now in the game of offering world class SPORT-LUXs that will put the Germans to shame. I love America.. I won't ever support Germany or Asia's car industry if I can help it.

The day I buy a Benz will the same day that there is a Glock 9 pressed firmly against my head, and a knife to neck... pushing me to sign the dotted line to accept delivery:(

Stop trying so hard friend! you post with such anger and the cussing doesn't help your cause.

Do you really believe what you write? try not drinking the KOOL AID before you post.

All you post is nonsense and everybody reads right thru it. ALL you do is run down cars not made in the US with random garbage with no facts while building yours up to be some amazing car. The V is a nice niche 60k car- if it was all that sales would be much better. The experts have spoken from Road and track car & driver top speed ect
E63 > CTS-V whether you like it or not. The car has 4 doors but only room for 2 (back seats are a joke)
I only deal with facts.

Grow up man- my gosh ! it's an internet forum where people who actually own said vehicles post their own experiences
not some " I heard" or "a friend of mine" my cousins uncle" ect

You love America we get it(WE ALL DO) just try not being so narrow minded in your thinking about cars made outside the US. End of story here.

hmmmm, i would have guessed you'd go with the vette.

personally; if they come out with a dual clutch zr1 c7 (with a step up in the interior dept comparable to the 4th --> 5th gen step up); goodbye everything else.

you just cant beat 3300lbs and 635hp with a 100k mile warranty for 115k USD.

[maybe godzilla but i have a hard time thinking of the idea of owning a nissan again; i've drilled the domestic idea in my head hard (if there's a good option in it that is)]

Well, if I were being given one car or the other for free, I'd take the Mercedes as well. Then I'd sell it and buy a ZR1 and have a whole lot of cash in my pocket.

I could run faster than a professional runner carrying 500lbs

LOL..I'd probably do the same..But I wouldn't buy a zr1 but a sub $35,000 car. I just don't see myself spending over $40,000 for anything..

This, imo, points out the weakness of Mercedes/BMW. When you push comparable performance out to the edge, the price difference becomes redonkulous.

Yet Cadillac has done an excellent job keeping the V-Line at the top of the game with performance, while not raping people's pockets. They could have gotten $70K + starting for the CTS-V...

The CTS-V is the only one left. The old CTS-V was good, but not 'top of the game' and neither were the XLR-V or the DTS-V. So they haven't been keeping the V-series at the top, they got one right and ditched the rest.

Stay tuned... even GM isn't crazy enuff to blow this thing. The cars that U named... XLR and "S"TS-Vs are discontinued as they realign the line-up. The upcoming ATS (3series size) will be a V no doubt. There is also a RWD/AWD car coming over the upcoming XTS (STS/DTS replacement). It will probably be a V as well.

Thats fine, but they haven't really been at the top and GM definitely hasn't been keeping them there.
