Those are 305's in the pics, there's no way they are 315's.

The problem is when you stuff a big tire on a smaller rim the contact patch gets much smaller! If that tire was on a 11" rim it would be much wider. My 295s look like the same width as those, but without that side sticking out like that.

I don't see how you guys can discern the .39" width difference between 305mm and 315mm tires from those crappy blackberry cell phone pictures, especially given that there is no weight on the tires?

I agree here too.

I would put 305 DRs on my stock rim and never look back after seeing the 295s on here. Anyone trying to decide on tires the 295s are perfect, the 275 is just to small! DO IT!
Looks and performance are two very different things.

I will say that 295s should work fine. Just at the edge to me.

It's noticeable plenty. If you are used to looking. Not possitively, but a high percent.

Me and my son have a game we play to guess the tire and rim sizes on different wheels.

I would imagine the tire pressure would have a big effect on the contact patch too. More pressure, less contact...
As it is I run approx 40 psi to keep from wearing my outside edges faster than the middle (stock tires and wheels). This is more of a player on low profile tires.

Sorry, doesn't look right to me. Plus, I'd rather have 4 matching tires. Not Nitto's on the rear and Pirelli on the front.

Here are some more Nitto NT05R 315 tires on stock wheels.

Best bet is to have the stock wheels widened to at least 10.5" if you are worried about the 315's being to wide for the stock 9" wheel.

I'm not so much worried about putting 315s on my stock rears as I just wanted to see how they would look. I think they look great!
How do you like the ride? Do you keep them at a lower pressure?
