Chances are the painter isn't going to give you a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty on it though. This is a FACTORY car. From GM. It will be worth more then the run of the mill convertible some day. You can make a clone of an original 69 Yenko Camaro, but it isn't gonna be an original 69 Yenko Camaro.
Amen to that.......... very true!!

Ducati did a N-M 748 about 10 years ago, I don't recall what they sold for but a few years later they were selling like a regular 748. It was limited to 100 as well. All you got was silver paint, and a plaque. There may have been a few extras, but nothing really unique.

I wouldn't plan on buying one of these for an investment. I just don't see N-M cars holding their value.

If you have stupid money like that, I guess you would buy it. I am still not sure if I had stupid money like, if I would buy the car.

Hey, if someone wants to spend that kind of loot on a car, who are we do say its dumb. I wouldnt spend 75k on a stock purple car, but I dont see why people get almost personally offended by a car such as this. Its all about personal preference and we all are guilty of wanting to spend alot of money on something we like that someone else thinks is a waste.

That said, I like that interior! And lets all thank rich folk for tickling the economy by buying these!!

What is Chevy thinking? They're probably thinking that to be a featured item in the Neiman-Marcus Christmas Catalog is excellent exposure for a soon-to-be-released model. They're not offering this as a regular optioned car available through dealers. It's a tiny run of 100 cars offered through a specialty catalog in a niche market of very wealthy people. Every year this catalog is released with the idea of being over-the-top. Some people have the means to buy exclusiveness and while I'm not one of them, I think by being shown on a show like TODAY, it exposes the Camaro to people who might not be aware of it, which will sell more Camaros. Camaro enthusiasts should be happy Chevy is making such a big effort to make a success of our beloved Camaro by exposing it to as many people as possible. If the Camaro doesn't continue to sell well it could be 2002 all over again where it was dropped for poor sales numbers. Be happy for what the Neiman-Marcus Camaro represents - good publicity for Camaro.

i agree,i drive mine every day because the wife wont allow me to have a third vehicle anymore like i used to,insurance is tooooo high, but for folks that can afford just about anything they want, some probably bought it for the "possible" return on their $$ years down the road, although like another member said in an earlier post,i do not think that the NM car will sell for a crazy figure like some other special editions do,

I got the VERY FIRST production 2000 Audi TT on May 1, 1999, a couple of weeks before the Neiman Marcus "special edition TT" customers took delivery.

What happened was I ordered the car right after a press preview at the auto show. I was 23rd on the list at the Houston dealership.

But the third guy dropped off the list, and had the exact same order as mine.

The dealer called on May 1 and said, "the first four just came in and the other three aren't taking delivery until the weekend." I ran down to the dealership and got mine right away.

Since Houston was the port of entry, these were the first Audi TTs in the U.S. For two whole days I was driving around in the only production Audi TT in the nation! That was cool.

Of course without certification, the car wasn't worth any more than any other. But I'm sure the Neiman Marcus special edition TT is worth something today.

The Camaro is sure to bring in top dollar in a couple decades. Imagine if they offered a '69 special edition of which only a hundred were made and only a few survive!

It's a total rip off. Everyone is building camaros and asking way to much for them. In the end people are going to lose interest because there are just too many Joe Shmo camaros out there.

Hey I'll buy a camaro and paint it any color you want or add a supercharger to it and sell it to you for $75K all day. Just give me the money up front !

I think the difference here is it isn't Joe Schmo. It's GM themselves making and selling this limited edition car. So this WILL be worth more than the average convertible. How much? Only time will tell and anyone buying one probably doesn't care. They are buying it because they can afford to "waste" money and others can't.
