I'm not trying to split hairs with you but if the kid had said the guy next door brought home a Camaro SS and I got some pics and got to sit in it then sure, I'd be all..."awesome, great pics, thanks!" but he didn't!

He took a chance to be cool and made himself very lame! I just called him on it...

Hah. I don't care. It's not me. Rag on the kid all you guys want but you're wasting my time spent wasting time and obsessing over this car by obsessing over whether he actually got to drive it.

I don't think he was trying to impress Camaro enthusiasts but probably just wanted to show all his bros at school and meet hot chicks on Myspace. You guys are just raining alll over this kids parade.

According to the pix in the first post and the video, I would say it is plausible that this kid in fact did get the chance to sit in it and possibly even drive it up and down the block.

I mean...why is it not?

Let's say you are standing outside your house when your neighbor gets home...who just happens to be pulling up in a new Camaro. This is your neighbor of 8 years...or someone you've known your whole life. Either way, the neighbor "who works at GM and helped design the Camaro" could very well trust his young neighbor kid since he's known him for years. "Sure...you can take it up the block and back. But, that is it."

Why not? Maybe he's looking for better pix since this was all he was able to get?...and that was what some saw on the first video or something.

Either way, video was done tastefully with pix he claimed he took. It is possible that a kind neighbor let him drive it. I'm not going to call him names or call on him. That does not do me or him any good. Don't give the kid a hard time....

....

and maybe he loved it so much that he wants to get in one for himself in a year or two. He joins here to find out more about the car and sees all the negative .....nevermind.

Sure, maybe his neighbor does work for GM, and maybe he did get to drive it. What ticked me off was that he tried tricking people into believing that he drove it. Like Legend said, if he had just put up the pictures and said that he got to sit in one, I'd be quite happy for him.

Maybe I was too harsh on him. Maybe he is just trying to impress his buddies at school and pick up some girls. If he did end up with a crappy cell phone picture of him driving, he should've just said that instead of making stuff up to try and impress people. I don't know. I'm 17, yet I don't feel the need to impress anyone (except colleges...heh). It's probably just because I'm really an old man trapped inside a young kid's body. But that's just me.

I guess following the development of this car has made me skeptical about things, with all the false rumors and speculation. This is no different.

I would actually like to see his picture of him driving, even if it is blurry. And I hope that he does pick up girls with the video. Ahh highschool girls....... sigh............. I miss the good old days...........

PS: Tell him to get an ABL video next time or I will be REALLY mad

As far as I know, he very well could've driven it. He's sticking to that. I think people are just assuming he didn't because of the previous fudged video and his age.

yeah he could be telling the truth...
I am sure no one would believe me that when I was 16 I got to take my dads new Porsche 911 4S out whenever I wanted... all that matters is that I know I did

That's why i miss being young enough to hit on highschool girls. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. "Wow, you have a job? Wow! You own your own car?"
