If everyone is complaining about you, guess what - the problem is not everyone else.
If you read any review about Camaro's chief competitor: the Mustang, nobody ever says there's a huge expanse of cheap black plastic in front of the passenger. Why is that? Try and take off your rose-tinted glasses and try to think to yourself what's the difference between the Mustang dashboard and the Camaro dashboard. There is a difference - that's why people keep saying that. For me, I think it's a combination of the seat being too low as some have mentioned and the fact that the dash looks like a single piece of expansive unbroken flat plastic - and guess what it is. Other brands break up the monotony using colors and creative shapes. Just look at it - the top is just one flat shapeless black surfboard. As for people who say they can see perfectly fine from the passenger seat, despite their height, well yeah - if you're happy with only a horizontal line of sight. Most people expect to be able to see the road in front of them as well. Anyway, I personally don't care about it but at least I consider why other people keep criticizing it over and over again. It's called critical thinking. If you can't understand why there's a consistency of thought that differs from your own, then you're one of those "think inside the box" type people. |

Throw one of those toddler car wheels on the dash when your girlfriend rides with you she can even pretend to drive "Closest my GF would get to driving it"

![]() I am a pretty big smart-ass, but in the time it took for them to come up with a witty response, they could have just answered the question.

I thought it was interesting enough to read. I have never really given it much thought, because I honestly do not care what other people think. I can understand where the OP is coming from. I am a sarcastic, grumpy, and critical SOB who sometimes says exactly what I think just because I can, knowing that it is going to get somebody all torqued up. I don't make up an opposite opinion just to stir it up, but I do tell it exactly the way I want. I realize one option is to keep my mouth shut and let everyone live in ignorance of my ignorance. What fun is that? I am certain that I am not the only soul rolling through this forum or world in general. On that note...I have no problems with anything on the passenger side of my vehicle.

I'm generally accused of being the critical thinker I am, but it seems to me, someones mixing chocolate with the peanut butter here...........I'm still having some difficulty figuring out what the O.P's actual point is regarding passengers and complaints. Was it their envy or bordem or is it the lack of seat position capabilities in the Gen5. What connection to any of these things, have to do with, attaching toys, gadgets, gizmos or electronic items to the dash ? Why not just consider strengthening the relationship and breaking the bordem by having a engaging conversation with the passenger over something of relevent interest? That seems to be the more appropriate solution, and its free of cost and danger............... that is unless the driver and passenger haven't anything in common to begin with. In that case, the truth shall set you free........... As for Mustangs. I own one and...............they're dashes are just as simplistic. |

Stuck a Garmin on there
My wife plays with Garmin and gives me directions on how to get from the grocery store, (3 blocks away) to home. She is now the co-pilot and no complaints about the blank space. Used a little suction cup dealy for the holder so she can take it out, mess with it, and put it back. If I am making her sound stupid, I shouldn't. She is much smarter than me but just needed a play pretty.
She is 68 years old but still a car lady and loves messing with the modern stuff. She uses her iPhone to start the car if we come out of the store and see someone near it. Laughs every time. |

tl;dr.
![]() That said, I think they should have done something over there also. Perhaps "Camaro" embossed in the plastic. Or maybe an emblem, like the third gens had. - X
