Well you're just too tall, then! Surgically remove a couple vertebrae and you'll be just fine, I'm sure it won't cost THAT many thousands of dollars...

Some of you posted about getting the car at Invoice. I tried searching the Order/Pricing threads to get an idea of what that might be, but still don't think I understand. I know salesman have come out before to show me the "dealer invoice", but I am not that dumb. I know that they have made up documents to make you believe you are getting the invoice price for the car. I went on Chevy.com and built the car that I wanted and it showed $36,815. What would be the approx dealer invoice price for this car? I am hoping that the dealer will work with me some you know.

I have thought about making a drive out to Buckalew Chevy since I have heard a few good stories about them. Also was going to possibly see what SS-Eric could come up with, but don't want to bother him until I am sure that I am ready to order. I hate wasting peoples time if I can avoid it.

Back when I bought the truck in my sig I settled for the color. I didnt' really want Black, I wanted two-tone Blue and Beige. But this truck had everything else to the letter of what I wanted and the Black was just so damn sexy.

Originally in the Camaro I wanted a CGM car with black stripes. But everytime I see an IBM it always catches my eye and I really like it. Plus I have always wanted a Dark Blue sports car. So I figure that is the winning combo.

As for the sunroof mentioned in one of the reply's I do NOT want a sunroof. I have never really been a fan of them. And as posted above, it seems like most of the 2SS/RS cars have them.

Plus, if you wish to alter the stripes from the factory look, you can do that easily.

Can anyone tell me if GM will install the Rally Stripes that come down just past the mail slot? I have seen a few this way and I have been considering that as well.
If you order your car, don't get the rally stripes at all.

Have them painted on. It's what I had done. I used the factory SIM color, and it looks terrific. Vinyl stripes could fade or be damaged by pressure washing.

I ordered mine. It was a learning experience.
· Beginning was horrible. :( Dealer #1
· The end was awesome. Dealer #2
You have to know about "Allocation"!!!!

Allocation is how many (if any) Camaros the deal can get from Chevy!

Dealer # 1: I spent several weeks waiting from my first deal to "Get Allocation".

I final went to another dealer.
Dealer # 2: With the same deal, made sure he had allocation, order was place, 6 weeks later, I picked up my Camaro from the dealership with 2 miles on it!!!

No one else test drove it!! Strait off the truck, prepped, detailed, and into my hands!!!
My dealer even took picture of it coming off the truck for me!!!

Tracking can be a lot of fun / frustrating.
It is great when you can see your codes changing, but there can be times where no one can give you an update.

So… I am happy I ordered. Would I do it again… I would have to think long and hard. But hey I have a good story to tell out of it.

Good luck

Check inventories locally first in chevrolet.com. I found one about 50 miles away and it was in transit to the dealer from the manufacturing plant and I haggled the price will below invoice because I had contacted 2 dealerships and they wanted my business bad. I kind of got the best of both scenarios. You might be able to do the same.

My understanding is that there isn't much markup on these cars, even with some options on them. You're not going to get a ton off if you're ordering the car but it's reasonable to get something below that 36,815.

If you want your car to be exactly the way you want it chances are you'll have to order it. If you can live without some of it or you just can't wait buy off the lot.

For the amount I paid/you're paying, I dont think waiting is reasonable. These are not hand built Ferraris that are low in number. These cars are mostly built by computer and are mass produced. I placed a factory order but when I was told it could be anywhere from a month to three I canceled it. called a different dealer and they had my exact desired car ready to go.

Just shop around man the wait just isn't reasonable in my book. Unless you plan on very rarely driving it...

I would say figure out exactly what you want. If there is one near it at a dealer go see it. see all the options that you haven't seen. Make sure the dealer knows you are willing to wait to get exactly what you want (order), maybe he will really lower the price on his. Tell them you have someone with an allocation that can order it for you.

Thats what I did except the car was exactly what I wanted (but you never tell them that). So for me it was wait for the "off the truck" experience or drive it home.

Actually I was going to order mine. But my dealer had two RJT SS's with what I wanted on the lot. I was sure I wanted grey interior and black stripes. One SS had black interior with black stripes and one SS had grey interior with CGM stripes. Would have never considered that combination. But when he put them side by side so I could look at them I liked the grey stripes better. I would have never ordered my car that way but I am so glad it turned out the way it did! So in my case I am glad I didn't order. Drove it right off the lot and haven't been able to get this damn grin off of my face since!
