The best single word I can think of to describe the acceleration of this car is "Violent". And I wasn't looking for a daily driver, so those aspects didn't factor either.

Still enjoy seeing a new Camaro on the street, but I have no regrets.

Did you see the latest Car & Driver Fastest Lap at VIR issue. Wow! The new Z07 option is killer on the Vette. Your's is nice as well. Lucky you!

The Z07 is a great package. Of course, with the Z28 around the corner, the Camaro is going to get even more exciting as well. I think this is one advantage GM has over Ford. The mustang does have to play to multiple markets. Chevy buyers have a greater choice when it comes to performance.

ZR1, Z06, Z28, that's a pretty nice lineup!

LOL, I was just thinking the same thing.

I was thinking the same thing too, though I'm not going to cross check that thread with this one to see who posted "I'm not rich" with comments in this thread about how many vettes they own or how many own both.

My wife and I have owned quite a few Vettes over the years but never a Camaro. Almost bought a 69 a couple of times (a Z/28 and an SS) but the deals fell through. We bought a 1999 C5 new and picked it up at the Corvette Museum and drove it through the Blue Ridge Parkway back home to South Florida. At 78,000 miles it became a problem and the ext. warranty had run out and we sold it. When the 5th Gen. Camaro was first displayed, I fell in love with the car. I kept comparing pictures of the 69 to the 5th Gen. but felt a stronger tie to the newer Camaro. I always felt that Chevy had to do a Z28 to be competitive and told my wife that I was going to buy one the first day they became available. I placed my deposit with a dealer last April to be the first one on his Z28 list. The new Camaro will reside next to my 67 Marina Blue Vette pictured below. I rented a Camaro and drove it to the C5 Fest last year and loved every minute in the car and very much look forward to taking delivery to the Z28/HPE/Really Quick Camaro coming out very soon. Now if I could just convince them to paint the Camaro Marina Blue also, life would be perfect.
