Unfortunately street parking is all I have here, but it's not like in that video, this is a parking lot. I also deliberately backed all the way up until the rear wheels bumped the concrete stopper thing to give the plows all the room in the world, and since I was on the end on the row I parked right next to the next guy over (as opposed to leaving myself a "paranoia spot" like usual) to give them six or seven empty spots in a row to turn or whatever. I think the plow - and yes it's a pickup with a plow, not a big city one - cut the corner too close.

wow. nutless wonders out there. I wish the kinds of people that hit vehicles and leave no note would just spontaneously combust. the world would be better without them.

if you f up, man up and take responsibility. thankfully we have insurance to cover our asses.

That sucks. I don't trust any of them, but the parking lot cowboys are the worst.

OP, where are the plows kept when not in use? If your local laws are similar to the ones here, they can't stop you from getting a nice zoom lens and taking pictures from the side of the street on public property

I have to do this on occasion at my job when wrecking yard owners won't give me access to a vehicle even though I have notarized forms giving me power of attorney to inspect a client's vehicle. If they go the hardball route, I whip out the telephoto lens while sitting in my car and get all the picture evidence I need.

So sorry for you...how ironic that your Camaro was safer on the road than when it was parked....

Yea well whoever did it didn't have the integrity to fess up to it, and respect for somebody else's property. So yes if it indeed was the city/county/company snow plow I'd come after them and I would sue too! If the guy was illegally parked, then maybe he deserved it and he's SOL, otherwise accidents happen, have some moral courage to do the right thing!

I'm not looking to sue anyone, I just want my car fixed fast. I shouldn't have to dish out my deductible because of someone else's mistake but there's no evidence and a whole lot of nothing I'm in a position to do anything about. If I had evidence I'd be all over it but that's just not the case.

Dirtdog, with all due respect, I don't really have a problem with suing especially over something like that video shows. I don't think it's right to leverage the (as I see it) buying-people-off ability of a town or city to protect individuals working for the town or city when they screw up. That's not to say I think that suing like mad is okay or that it's all right when people sue for a million dollars to "send a message" to the city (because clearly the whole city conspired to get the person, I guess?) or whatever excuse they're using to justify chasing a windfall, because whether the supervisor has the city pay for the damage or you win a lawsuit, you're still basically taking from your neighbors and even yourself instead of the individuals who actually caused the damage. It may be only a penny or two per person per accident, but it's still not right. I like the insurance system all of us use as private individuals - we all have that as individuals anyway, so it seems redundant to pay our premiums AND pay into the local treasury's city-worker-oopsie fund, too. Sorry, didn't mean to get preachy.

Wullger, that's a fun thought, no doubt about it, but I've never been comfortable driving other people's cars anyway, and now I'm driving someone else's car daily for maybe a month. I'm not looking to go borrow trouble.

On the bright side there's no way they can keep that front fascia, so when I talk to the shop tomorrow I'll be sure to tell them not to screw in a front plate bracket on the new one. So maybe some slight good can come of this.

At least I assume it was a snow plow, but I'm on a dead-end street and I know all the cars that typically park anywhere near me - none of them have damage, I checked. There are a bunch of mounds of plowed snow right by my car though. No one left a note either, or tried to contact my condo association, or the local police.

Anyway, I'm kinda annoyed. Hopefully it won't take too long to fix and I'll be rolling again soon.
Man, you are one cool character.

all i can say is....if that happened to me......

i would be flipping the f out on the plow company,
and i would definately get a lawyer involved.

the company telling you you that you cant come look at the plows sounds like an admittance of guilt right there.
(they probably know which plow did it and are just covering their asses)

i would be ALL OVER them!!!!!

they would pay to fix my car just to get rid of my annoying ass!!!
