Wheres the stickers? You know that adds about 5hp per sticker and thats not even mentioning the air resistance stickers will give you.

it does make a funny "tick" sound as it rolls across the kitchen table

Nick, you have to find that "tick" and eliminate it. Unexpected sounds are never a good sign.

Check the illegal motor. Could be a problem with the pistons.

Dude, I know...

And I hate thinking that I am leaving a known issue uncorrected. The problem is, I have no back up wheels / axles, and the more I was playing with it the other night trying to find that damn tick, the more I was worried that I would break something and now have anything that she could race, which in my mind is way worse. I moved wheels around, did a few things, but I didn't want too do too much that I would really regret. More graphite seemed to help though, so we'll just see what we can get. I've already prepped her with the "This may not be our year" thing. The real goal of this whole thing is the parent / child interaction, but I know that when I was her age, all I wanted to do was win. We'll see.

@ Havok - we were originally going to add some glitter, but we both decided that it would not be a good idea. Even she said that it would "make the car surface too bumpy."

@ eflynnbot - post a pic of your car. I know everyone would love to see it.

Don't forget to grease the wheels pre-race. Use some of that Pam stuff.

Sophia vetoed the NEC5 idea as not being pizazzy enough. Though she is all for adding SS as long as it stands for Super Sophia. I'll probably sneak a Bowtie on there too.

That's awesome! Congrats. Nice to see you guys today. Was a lot of waiting but the girls had a good time hanging out. Sophia is all ready thinking about next years race.

You guys left just a few minutes before they ran the final race. The waiting was tough, but thanks for letting them play with your phone; that killed some time for them. And yea, they had a fun time hanging out - as did some of us grown-ups too, I think
