Am I the only one here that doesnt thinks garagelogic is in the red? I mean, yeah, every once in a while, he seems kind of troll-ish (no offence man, but it's true, but only sometimes ). But most of the time, his posts end up being valid in one way or another. This thread didn't seem too bad, IMHO. I figured it would blow up though.

Just because his car is... well... BADASS, you guys take it as a threat everytime he posts something that makes you think. Come on people, lay off a little bit.

BTW: Muscle Master, I dont think you have anything to worry about

Please don't bash me too bad for this post.

I figured, since I am one of those folks who will not only talk about buying one of these cars when they become available, that the forum would be open to my questions, comments and general conversation about the cars, even if it's not all sunshine and daisies.

I have never bashed the Gen5, and more often than not I have been as excited as anyone else on here about the fact that this car is being made. However, life has taught me many things, the least of which is that You should never, ever, set your expectations too high. That is a sure recipe to be disappointed at a later date. That's not negativity nor is it "bashing", it's realism.

I'm sorry if my presence on this board bothers some people, some just by the fact that I drive a GT500 and nothing more, but that is not a reason to try to red into every post I make that I have some hidden agenda or I'm looking to "stir the pot". Do I pose questions? Sure, but they are not meant to create controversy.
That may be partially true. But in this case I don't believe you.

You didn't read a word of my post did you. Because if you had this would not have been your response... Which is too bad. I've never asked you to leave nor have I asked you to drink the camaro kool aid.

But if you can't see that your position on this issue is baseless and could concieveably be applied to all muscle cars, then you are the Troll I thought you were. Or you can be mature enough to acknowledge that the Camaro is no better or worse off than any of the relevant cars and leave it at that. You continuously dodge the rebuttal to your position with short quick responses that do nothing to further your position and leave the conversation dangling. Then you use that as justification to trod on making your original point with no new information to support it. Which leaves us even further frustrated.

And yes, you may be taking the brunt of my (and other's) frustration due to the fact that we are sick of similar threads that have been more common as we wait for the car to finally arrive. And again, why on earth would we, camaro fanboys, even want to discuss this ridiculous topic when we don't even have the car back yet? Do you really expect us to chew into this argument of, the Camaro will only be around for a couple years, when we can't see past the fact that we are finally getting our car back? I don't appreciate you telling us our house is going to burn down before it's built.

So, consider this my admission of guilt. I am not mature enough to have this conversation with you at this time.

And as jealous as I am of your car, that has nothing to do with it. And I think you know that.

Absolutely, there is reason to be concerned about ALL the pony/muscle cars given the current climate. I was not trying to single out the Gen5 as being the only nameplate at risk. If that's how it came off, I apologize. I will be as diappointed as anyone if the Camaro only sees a short production run, and I pray that does not happen.

However, I can also see the market/political forces at play that are going to make it more and more difficult for automobile manufacturers to give us these types of cars (you know, the one's we want to buy other than the one's a lot of people would like to force us to buy) so I'm not going to just stick my head in the sand and pretend that the possibilty of a short production run on the Gen5 might become a reality.

I think most of the members on this site bring a lot to the table and are more than mature enough to have an intelligent discussion or healthy debate without getting their feeling hurt. (Although there are a few I would question). I can also see where opening a thread on this topic might have caused some angst, but I repeat, that was NOT the intent of my post.

I truly enjoy this site and participating on it. If I wanted to be troll, it would not be hard, but since I deal with those types as a co-administrator on my own message board all the time, I have no desire to make any moderator on this site's job any more difficult than it already is.

In light of this post I have no further complaint. I appreciate your honesty and your understanding of how we may be a bit blinded by the anticipation of the cars arrival/return.

I offer my respect and gratitude to you for this reply. Thanks for the kind words and taking the time to sort this out.

Respectfully and gratefully,

Chris

To all: Garagelogic's original post, and every one of his replies had no right to be questioned as "trolling". These are opinion forums, and he comes up with a rare example of questioning GMs method rather than making one of the hundreds of posts about which color to pick, and he's attacked and labeled as negative. Just laughable.

If you want Camaro5.com to thrive for years into Camaro's future as a retail product I suggest welcoming criticism; we as consumers hold the power to make GM and its cars better (the company serves us and we choose our purchases)...Blindly following large corporations decisions does not a healthy market make (word to Windows Vista). I can't believe everyone got their panties in a twist over this topic.

I notice a high percentage of the Camaro 5 members have a superiority complex because " ohh the camaro is the best bang for the buck" or " the challenger and rustang stands a hell of a chance against the god-like camaro" or "GM rocks...Ford and chrysler is garbage" (when Ford did not have to bend over and take it up the ass for loans from the US gov. to just keep the lights on)

you get the point...
