Ok Zedder. . . what's your take on the CGM?

It was my understanding from Scott that the CGM isn't even in the paint system yet. . . had to paint more of the other type of gray for the Impala before they started with the CGM.

You are correct and so is Scott. There is no CGM in the paint system yet. Gm likes to test out body panels of the new paint WAY aheead of production schedule. They usually have a crew come in and paint a few whole bodys or few select panels to check for defects or paint issues before the paint sceme makes it into full blown production.

When the GMT-900 truck first started rolling out. 3 months after SORP there was various pilot bodies throughout the paint shop with the new purple and jewlcoat ruby red paint for the NEXT year of production, 8 months in advance. They know what they are doing and every color that has been sprayed on the new Camaro looks awsome and compliments the body lines perfectly. IOM looks particularly badass on the hood.

does anyone know which color will GM produce first? I have the victory red ordered and my buddy the silver ice and both of them with black stripes. we just want to find out which one of our cars will be the guinea pig for the stripes at our dealership.

(I know this: it's one of the more popular colors in terms of 'sold' orders...)

Ok. so i was right then? . . . Seen all these "I had to change my color" posts. . . . why? because the CGM isn't avaliable for the first run of cars. . .
