no one really knows all of the details yet though im sure a lot will be cleared up tomorrow. as far as ordering in march at a smaller dealership i would guess lower odds. though probably really high chance for April. but honestly tomorrow we will find out a lot more.

I think you are misunderstanding. I am not talking about any constraint. The comment was that if your dealer has a 5 camaro allocation for March and they had 5 V8's to order then they could order all 5 V8's.

I was saying the allocation will most likely be broken up between V6 and V8 so they couldn't order all 5 V8 camaros for March. The dealer would have to order some V6's.

Plus, if ABL wasn't ready I don't think there would be a constraint; they just wouldn't put it in, right? A constraint means that it can't be built, I assume?

Actually, I was responding to littlecami's post and wanted to multi quote both but apparently screwed up...

IMO, your response is correct. Those that get multi-vehicle "releases" will include V6 and V8. The dealer doesn't get to choose. What will not happen is a dealer with 5 cars, all V8, will not see the ability to order a V6 in consensus until the initial allocation has ended.

Once they start being delivered they will most likely be a constant flow of cars, not a batch process where they will hold them until the middle of the month and release them for delivery. I think they expect cars to start arriving at dealerships in mid april.

Orders may be pulled in batches and then scheduled for build ..

Actually, the constraints that are out there today are the one's that apply to the March start-up. As soon as GM asks the dealers to "tag" (which they are doing today), the constraints will apply for the first build. They don't ask a dealer to tag and then a month later, re-evaluate the pulled orders to see if the factory can build them. It works the other way around.

The list which Rick and Greg provides, will apply to orders that are just about to be tagged, not orders that have already been tagged. So - if your dealer has told you that he has tagged your car for the next factory "pull" (assuming he is not lying), and in the time between them doing that and it actually being built you see in Ricks's latest list that an option your car has is in the constraint, you have nothing to worry about. Of course accidents do happen sometimes.

As for all the ABL talk, if there are no constraints today and GM is asking dealers to tag, then obviously they got the ABL working....

I see camartoconti's report was dated yesterday and has not been updated for today. When we see constraints today? At what time today will the dealers get their consensus?

It's a weekly thing - every Thursday.

That's how my math works. I will say this - you shouldn't have to read between the lines to get a straight answer.

Estimated shipment numbers are IN for Feburary consensus timing. No other information has popped up at this time as to contraints, order week, etc.

It will be up to the guy that orders the cars..a manager or inventory guy like that. It will be only a NUMBER now,of what is available to be ordered in the next 30 days or so.Then GM will start to issue the allocation on a weekly basis, that is when our constraint report will mean something, when actual orders are being released to the plant for production.

Once consensus is done...shortly there after....we will be able to look at another report....

FINAL ALLOCATION BY WEEK. This report will help us better communicate on what Thursday's if an order is able to be tagged, pending on constraints (if any ) of course.

Greg and I can generate 100 Camaro order sheets right now, but if none of the above happen....they are just sheets as we said in the video we got our balls kicked in for.

As for the V6 car....that does not go against your allocation - that car will show up to us by the end of April
Thanks guys!
